Brilliance and Imagination in Music Form
The music of 'ellen cherry' continues to mature with each new piece she releases. "Dizzy Pleasure Club" proved her versatility with lyrics as well as her ability to create pleasurable music, but its limited release prevented the widespread acknowlegement of its purity and balanced proportion. (I urge you though to get a copy, available through Amazon.com, or from her website - ellencherry.com - ). Several independent movie soundtracks added to her resume are proof of her talent; but now we have the joy of experiencing her imagination and smooth-as-silk voice on "Years", a series of ballads she composed which serves as the historical recounting of the thoughts and feelings of selected women in certain points of time. Starting with "1864: A Civil War Bride", and progressing through time to the present, she marvelously corresponds to us the inner thoughts and mind processes of relatively obscure women as they recount the experience of their existence. Innovative and intensely interesting, truly engulfing and full of emotion, this unique journal is both immensely enjoyable and deeply touching at the same time. A must-add to your music collection.
