Shadow Demon FOREVER!! 5
To simply say this band blew me away. Every song was special.

Its a shame the band is no longer together. Simply this is one of the best debuts of metal in this fashion.
You can feel parts in songs where its like 'some1 likes Blind Guardian' or Persuader or whatever. Though it only hits me in an interval or 2. The grand scale of all the songs are distinct and worthy to be remembered along with the other prestigious metal bands.

On the bright side you have a masterpiece here, SO BUY IT!
Also, for right now former members of Shadow Demon (Guitarist and master if distinct growls Jeff Helm, and Jay....(drummer, i feel bad not remembering the last name) have made a band called Darkspyre. As well as a myspace page for music to come.
James Rinker was the bassist and has a project of his own in the works, with at least some material made but no myspace or name to promote his new band.

For my fellow fans of the Demon. The Grimoire of Ruin will always be an album of choice, as will their future projects!

WOW this came out of nowhere5
this really did come out of nowhere. I was browsing the millions of random bands on myspace one day, and happened upon these people. I thought the name was absurd, and had to hear what kind of music a band with that name could make. Well let me just say WOW!!! the vocalist sounds very much like Matt Barlow, the drumming is very good, the guitars take more of a thrash approach, so basically this is a thrash album, with power metal vocals. The production isn't great, but it definitely doesn't take away from it either. The only thing the production actually hinders is the drums, and they still come out just fine, so not really going to complain there. It comes out to something AMAZING they are from Seattle if I remember correctly, I had no idea that something like this could come out of there. they are one of my favorite bands now, and i cant praise them enough especially for a debut!! if you like any kind of metal you will be able to appreciate, and enjoy this album!
