This Debut Album is a HIT !!5
1997's debut album "...A Better View Of The Rising Moon" scores high marks in my book. With Lyrics like, "Turn the lights off. I don't want to see myself doing this" as found in the song "Garden Of Evil" or from the song "Hey Darlin" , "Casting shadows on the pavement, dancing toe to toe" keeps one tapping their foot and enjoying the music.

With a splash of Mandolin, Banjo, Harmonica and even Cello, an extra unique flavor, which sets the band well apart and above the typical carbon-copy emo-type sound. 1997 does not yield to, or continue down the easier passed path placed on today's stages from other bands - 1997 has found their own path and forge ahead without screaming or cursing or songs without substance.

From "Waters Edge" to "Curse Or Cure" - the entire CD is a treat to hear and enjoy, over and over!

If you like the song "Water's Edge", that doesn't mean you'll like this CD. Now if you savor this band's unique sound, by all means you will enjoy the CD. But do not expect every song to be the same as it's single. Overall I think this is the group's best release. (Not to mention that Alida Marroni and Kerri Mack are both very talented singers and attractive women!)

One of the Best Albums of 2007`5
1997's debut album is by far one of the best of 2007. It is one of those rare gems were every song is great. You can listen to one after the other and not have to skip. They came up with the name of the band because someone said no one born before 1997 would listen to their music but I'm in my 30's and this is one of my favorite new bands and I'm excited to hear more new music from them. Great album!
