Customer Reviews

To our dearly departed4
Recently I had the good fortune to see the Dear and Departed live when they opened for Tiger Army. Although I usually find many opening bands to be trying to say the least, I was immediatly struck by the Dear and Departed, so a few days following the show ordered their album.
I can honestly say that the Dear and Departed are one of the more interesting bands that I have heard in a while. The group mix the sounds of eighties goth, arena heavy choruses, and sing along choruses to perfection. Songs like "Hometown Heroes" and "Tonight's the Night" and, most notably, "Firefly" are more melodic and interesting than any song that currently rides the modern rock charts.
The band is tight but never forceful, and lead singer Dan Under is an excellent lyricist and front man, and while this record isn't perfect, it is beyond promising, and a must purchase, if just so you can say when this group inevitably becomes huge that you had it before anyone else.
