Album Description
In August 2002, As Cities Burn was forged from the remnants of several local south Louisiana bands. Word about the band spread rapidly while As Cities Burn began to play shows throughout all of Louisiana, gaining an extremely loyal following. In October of 2002, the band released a five song EP selling over 1,000 copies.

Customer Reviews

One of the best albums of 20075
I was a bit nervous when hearing that As Cities Burn was going to continue the band, but go in more of an indie direction. Of course it is almost a new bands with TJ being gone, but they have progressed in a positive way, more than any other band I have ever listened to. If you are so stuck on one genre such as screamo or hardcore, this may not be for you. However, if you really respect these hardworking, and talented musicians...there is definitely something in it for you. I recently saw these guys in St. Louis and me and my sister were going through a hard time...I talked to Cody before they went on, and asked him if they would play "The Widow" from their previous album, and he said they had only planned on playing songs from "Come Now Sleep" in order to promote, but he would talk to the guys and see if they would want to. They played it at the end of their set, and dedicated it to us, this is a band that really cares about their fans, and to hear Cody when he sings his lyrics you can tell he means it. This is truly one of the best bands I have ever heard, heavy or not...they are amazing. If you don't have any of their music, do yourself a favor and buy everything you can by them.

"The new As Cities Burn will blow your mind..5
..and if it doesn't, theres a good chance you don't have one."

I sat staring at my computer screen for a good ten minutes simply because I could not think of the right words to describe this cd. I did however, think of a single word to describe it: "real". This is something As Cities Burn is gifted with.

While this album is completely different from their previous album, it is still equally as powerful. The lyrics are deep and perplexing, the instrumentation is tight yet dissonant, the vocals are honest and real. Theres no question that As Cities Burn has in fact changed (alot) but the thoughts and emotions in their music remain.

A nice addition to this album are the beautiful ambient keyboards added by the glorious, Matt Goldman; producer.

All in all, an awesome cd that truly shined through in 07

Wow!!! 5
This is one of the best albums I have heard in awhile and certainly in the running for the best albums of 2007. I liked Son, but this far surpasses it. I for one am glad that TJ left the band because Cody is a much better vocalist. I haven't liked stuff coming out of Tooth and Nail for a while, alot of the bands are very cookie cutter and make me sick but As Cities Burn has set themselves apart from those bands with Come Now Sleep. I especially like the raw sound of the record. My personal favorites are Contact, Empire,The Hoard, and Clouds. The melodies on these songs are absoloutely amazing. Of course the whole album is a must have, just don't expect screaming like in the last album. I think ACB really benefits from not having that element in their music anymore and they make beautiful music without it.
