Album Description
They built themselves up from the grass roots, then took to the skies. Now British sensations ENTER SHIKARI are flying further than ever before - all the way to BIG DAY OUT 2008, plus special solo side shows also happening in Sydney Melbourne and Brisbane. Hardcore and trance? Punk and jungle? Strobe lights and human pyramids? That's the ENTER SHIKARI arsenal. This beautifully re-packaged album adds a bonus DVD to the mix which captures the band LIVE in action and at their at their most powerful screamo-trance energetic best - complete with maniacal breakdowns and eye-rolling synths.
Customer Reviews
FINALLY, SOMETHING ORIGINAL!!!
The current music scene is really different then it used to be. A lot of the bands are changing their style to a more mainstream screamo. This is not the case for Enter Shikari. They combine brutal screams with crazy techno beats and synths. Take to the Skies really stands out cause it's still harder-core, yet still out of the ordinary. The only band I can really compare them too is Sky Eats Airplane's EP. Basically, this album is worth it (whatever it may be). What I find really... odd, is that this cd made me want to have a brutal hardcore headbanging rave. Yup, it's that awesome.
A favorite of mine
I came across this band on emusic. It was a random encounter involving one of their singles, but I immediately loved their sound. While some may think the rock/electronics clash, I think it's a rather unique sound. The "rock" side provides crushing guitars, while the keyboards provide a nice melodic undertone. The keyboards sum-up Enter Shikari; a rock band with a new flavor of fun and energy. And energetic they are. I enjoy their heavy guitars and drums, that move nicely into melodic *and catchy* choruses. I personally enjoy every song on this CD, my favorites being "Sorry you're not a winner" and "Johnny Sniper." With everything, Enter Shikari isn't for everyone... but they're a favorite of mine.
"This is all I need"
I absolutely love this album. No matter my mood I can always listen to it. Whether I feel like dancing, jumping around to relieve pent up emotions or just lounging, this album always fits.
