Pleasantly surprised!
A friend from YouTube sent me the link to this band's myspace page, and I immediately fell in love with their music! I used to be big into Black Metal a few years back, but the whole satanic theme grew old to me, so I stopped listening to most of it. When I first heard this band, I thought they might be following the same trend. FORTUNATELY, they are an innovative, never-before-seen (to me at least) style of music, with the brutality of black metal, yet the lyrical ingenuity of some great melodic or power metal bands. Like someone else said, their lyrics are not some generic "hail satan" or "burn jesus" like many similar-sounding bands out there. This specific album tells some horror/ghost stories, so you're in for a treat. I listen to all sorts of different music, but this band is by far the most brutal, creative and innovative band I have heard so far! Hauntingly beautiful symphonies await!

The best unknown Symphonic Black Metal Band and CD
Carach Angren is ,without a doubt, the best Symphonic Black Metal band to me. The funny thing is, their lyrics have nothing to do with Satanism at all. The whole concept of Lammmendam are a culmination of ghost stories, and mind you some of the vocals will haunt you (while you are sleeping, or just if you get one of their songs stuck in you head {happens everyday with me}). Just get this CD.
