The perfect blend of rock 'n' roll, soul, and honky-tonk, with a little pinch of sugar thrown in. Their mix of hard-hitting electric guitars, soaring vocals, and irreverent lyrics is even more volatile on this release. They mix up country, blues, and rock, then add their own unique twist with their creative songwriting and high-energy live performances. Now they've created an album that captures that energy while also embracing their studio skills.

Music at it's best!!!!
The third Mother Truckers CD, Let's All Go To Bed is a continuation of more great music from a band that blends styles together so well it is hard to categorize their work. It is a fusion of Blues, Country, Rock, Americana and a little bit of old school ukulele from the past. With their new rhythm section their live sound has become more powerful and this CD captures that energy. The primary members Teal Collins and Josh Zee form a duo that shares the vocals and guitars. Ms. Collins has never sounded better and her powerful voice shines on Billy Joe Shaver's "When I Get My Wings" but shows a softer side on "Quiet Night". Mr. Zee not only has mastered the electric guitar he pushes it to new heights. Buy this and all their CD's but remember to catch them live as well.
Let's all go buy this CD!
"Dynamite" explodes into your ear canal with it's soulful hard rocking blues guitar and the dueting vocals of Teal Collins and Josh Zee. These two make it clear they're hot for each others fire. Zee's guitar solo is simply stunning. Collins and Zee are switching off again on the blusey track "Streets of Atlanta." It's more of a Zee vocal affair, but Collins compliments him well. Teal takes center stage on the upbeat country rocker "Never Miss My Baby." This vocal power house proves she can compete with the country legends that came before her. Collins explores her soulfulness on the emotional ballad "When I Get My Wings." "Let's All Go to Bed" isn't as raunchy as you might think. It more about how complicated life can be, but things are simpler in bed. The track has a lot of country flair complete with harmonica accompaniment. Another fiery solo for Zee. "Quiet Night" is full of great vocal melodies and smooth acoustic tones.
The Bad
Nothing
The Verdict
Let's all go buy this CD! You can't beat this collection of hard-rocking country tunes, mixed with straight-up blues, traditional country, and soulful melodies. Josh Zee's deep tones were meant for Teal Collins spunky high-tones like peanut butter was made for chocolate. Let's All Go To Bed will stay rockin' in your head long after the lights go out.
Just wow!
I saw the Mother Truckers live the other night and was blown away so bought a CD on my way out. I have not taken it out of the CD player since. Teal's voice is one of the best female voices around. Josh's guitar sizzles and the songwriting is great. Is it country? Rock? Blues? Yeah.
Buy the CD. And if you get the chance to see them live...go!
