Product Description

Sharon Little had been making ends meet as a waitress in a Philadelphia-area restaurant when she scored a record deal with CBS Records in early 2008. Within weeks of completing her new album, Perfect Time For A Breakdown, Sharon was chosen by Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and T Bone Burnett to open their entire Raising Sand U.S. tour, which will put her in front of thousands of fans each night of the 33-show trek.

While this might seem that she s an overnight sensation , she is anything but a flash in the pan. She s a singer of intense emotional honesty and the songs she s written reveal an old soul that just happens to be within a person possessed of undeniable physical and spiritual beauty. The journey that has taken her so far in seemingly so short a time has actually been a life-long quest to find her voice, both in the literal and figurative sense.

The songs on Perfect Time For A Breakdown were written by Sharon and her collaborator, Scot Sax, who co-produced with Mark Howard, noted for his work with Bob Dylan, Tom Waits and Lucinda Williams. The album s 11 tunes were inspired in part by numerous cross-country train adventures Little and Sax have experienced over the past 2 years.

Her first five shows with Plant, Krauss & Burnett in April earned Little thunderous standing ovations, and it s only a matter of time before the rest of the world catches on to what the tour audiences are learning first hand: Sharon Little is a unique voice in a crowded landscape and she s here to stay.

Review
Los Angeles area critic Roy Trakin: [Little possesses] a sultry croon capable of soothing, arousing or exploding into a Janis Joplin-esque howl when you least expect it....By all rights, Little should be a big star. --Roy Trakin

New Star Emerges5
'Perfect Time for a Breakdown' let's you hear Sharon Little's incredible range over the combination rock and blues music she co-composed. Soft, Powerful, sometimes Joplinesque, her music grabs you from nowhere and brings you to attention - and you stay there. I saw her at the Greek theatre in L.A. opening for Robert Plant/Alison Krauss. She walked out to a half filled blasse audience - and walked off to a standing stunned crowd. The next night, I was fortunate enough to see both perfect performances by Stevie Winwood and Tom Petty at the Hollywood Bowl. But the CD I listened to on my way home was Sharon Little's. - Her recorded music is great, but see her live - she performs.

If you have a heart, you'll want to hear Sharon's Little's heart!5
The only thing better than a CD by Sharon Little is seeing her perform live! She is a masterful songwriter and a moving & courageous performer. Sharon willingly allows each song to take her over and she becomes all of the longing, fear, joy and heartbreak in each one. I grew up on the music of the 50's 60's and 70's and matured on the best of the what's been out there since and I gotta tell you, I never heard better or been moved more by any other singer/songwriter. She is simply unique and has a gift for sharing a song that is unparallelled. Get everything of Sharon's that you can get your hands on. Before the first song is over, you will be calling all your friends and telling them they gotta hear this woman sing!

Follow That Sound5
I first heard the song "Follow That Sound" on "The Cleaner" on A&E. I loved the sound of the song and the artist. I immediately went to Amazon.com and ordered it. Usually, when I do this, the song that led me to order the CD is the only one I really like. But this is a good CD. I like most all the songs. Sharon Little has a good voice and I really enjoy her music.
