Another Great Effort5
Michael McDermott has done it again. Another great CD from him. Love the two versions of "So Am I" "The year it all went wrong" is great - he mentions Philly building him back up. I'm from the Philly area and have been a big supporter of Michael McDermott's music since I first discovered him sometime around 2004 at WXPN's singer/songwriter festival. And Philly has been like his second home. Whenever Michael comes to Philly (or the nearby area) I go to see him. I even roadtripped to Chicago and Wisconsin once to see him. The whole CD is awesome! He is an incredibly talented songwriter - most of his songs are deep and tell a story. His writing reminds me very much of a long time favorite of mine - Bruce Springsteen. Love Michael's voice--sort of got a Springsteen quality to it!!! And he plays guitar, harmonica and piano very well also. Who knows he probably plays other instruments (but I've yet to see) but knowing him he does it all. I have every single CD he has released - they are all awesome, so I recommend you get them all :)

And from the darkness, it comes the light5
Hey la hey, Michael McDermott is back with another masterpiece, but this time music comes from the light. It's been a long long road, but now it's time to shine...you only have to hear the first track of the cd "So Am I" to see how great is the new stuff.

But don't you worry....we still have those brillant lyrics that captured our souls in the past. Just listen to the amazing "The Ballad of Johnny Diversey" to see a whole film in a few minutes, or if you want it you can help to writte "The Great American novel".

Just one advice...be careful about one song..."So Hard To Break", with Kate York on lead vocals, once you hear it, you will never stop to listen it....there's a word for that....magic

Hey la hey from those Bells back in 1996....halleluah!!

Another outstanding work from Michael McDermott4
Since he first broke through with "A Wall I Must Climb" in the early 90s, Michael McDermott has consistently delivered terrific albums, filled with great music and even better lyrics. Hey La Hey keeps that streak intact. Highlights include So Am I, I Wanna Know Why, and The Ballad of Johnny Diversey. This one rocks a little more than the previous "Noise From Words" album, but less than "Ashes" before that. I cannot recommend Michael's music highly enough.
