Whoever said absence makes the heart grow fonder must ve been thinking about the relationship between Lita Ford and rock n roll. The hard rock queen stepped away from her remarkable musical career back in the 1990s to devote herself to family and the surroundings of real life on a surreal Caribbean island, but with the call of the sonic wild getting louder and louder, she made the decision to dive back in at the deep end only to find that she had every bit as much love for the heavy rock grind. And as it turns out, the feeling is mutual.

With Wicked Wonderland , her first full-length offering since 1995 s Black , Lita shows that her flair for sexy, stomping, searing sounds has only gotten more vivid which is mighty impressive, given a history that includes such classics as Kiss Me Deadly and the Ozzy Osbourne duet Close My Eyes Forever. This release, created in tandem with husband Jim Gillette whose own musical history is highlighted by his work with acclaimed metallurgists Nitro is a hard and heavy affirmation of the sensuality and smarts that ve carried her through three decades of action.
The 15 cuts certainly touch on the sort of headbang-inducing riffage that gave Lita her start way back when, but there are also surprises aplenty from the smoking slide guitar that punctuates the bluesy Scream to the psychedelic industrial swirl that envelops Everything. It s a potent blend, propelled by in-your-face drumming and Lita s effortlessly steamy vocals.
With pelvis-pounding rhythms and lascivious lyrics of tunes like the appropriately-titled Indulge and the so-nasty-it s-nice Crave , Lita shows off her trademark ability to purr seductively and deliver a well-placed knockout punch on no-holds-barred songs like Piece (Hell Yeah) . Wicked Wonderland showcases an artist who s clearly got plenty to say and no shortage of ways to say it.

AMAZING!!!!
I purchased this album and was blown away. All the songs are amazing. My personal favorite song is Sacred. I was a big fan of Lita's back in the 80's but now I've become an even a bigger fan. I cant stop listening to this cd!!!!

AUDITORY ASTRO GLIDE - WICKED WONDERLAND IS A SENSORY DARK RIDE!
Over the past year I've had the unique opportunity to watch the birth and evolution of Lita's WICKED WONDERLAND project from inception to release and have to say it's unlike anything she has ever produced before. I am completely blown away by it and think it's fantastic!

WICKED WONDERLAND is a radical departure from Lita's past and has spawned a totally new, ultra-current, innovative and sophisticated sound and direction. Nothing is more intoxicating than an artist who truly has the balls to create something new and different - steering clear of the tried and true. There's such freedom living on one's creative edge.

Co-writing the material with husband Jim Gillette, Lita hasn't missed a beat with the release of WICKED WONDERLAND. The tracks are slickly produced and arranged by Lita, Jim Gillette and Greg Hampton. Jim Gillette has undoubtedly the #1 best voice in rock music and when you combine Lita's vocals and searing guitar, lubricated by the under-carriage of Jim Gillette's vocal prowess - the result is pure honey-dripping magic.

Speaking of which, my favorite song is "Sacred" - I love the sensual inter-play between Lita and Jim's vocals - the push/pull, the rough/soft and the top/bottom aspects are all hot buttons for me. This project, and this song in particular, is a glimpse into Lita and Jim's private world and a true testament to their marriage. Think what you may, but being around these two when they are together is exhausting and after 15+ years of marriage - you'd think they'd be over it by now.

The WICKED WONDERLAND packaging is well worth the price of admission alone. The album concept was created by the twisted genius of Piggy D and I don't think I've spent this much time combing album artwork, reading between the lines and looking/listening for secret messages since the release of the Beatles "White Album". (Yeah, I know, I'm old and the Walrus was Paul)

Lita is and always has been blessed with God-given innate talent and while most of us in the Runaways could play, it was Lita who truly soared, while the rest of us drafted in her wake. Lita taught all of us musicianship, she taught us all how to play and how to feel those moments in between the beats. Her musical influence on the Runaways was extraordinary, and no doubt the driving force behind the band.

On an extremely personal level, Lita is my friend and my sister - in the truest sense. We grew up together, share the incredible bond of having been in the Runaways together, have been around the world and skidded off runways in the Arctic Circle together and have stood by each other throughout our lives. I love her unconditionally.

She has always supported me personally and professionally and when I produced the film "EDGEPLAY" about our band, the Runaways - it was Lita who opened up her entire record catalogue - including all demo recordings - and gave me unprecedented carte blanche after a disgruntled band member blocked the licensing and use of all Runaways music in the film.

Lita Ford is a class act through and through - never mentioning the years (and yes, I mean years!) of back-door threats, lies and smear campaigns from the aforementioned disgruntled band members' low-rent, thug-mentality management team, which ironically continues to this day and on this WICKED WONDERLAND project. (C'mon guys - give it a rest and focus on your own artist.)

In closing, I just want to say to have watched Lita's evolution over the years - from teen rocker to solo shredder - through her most important role as wife and mother, and now as a bona fide rock LEGEND - has been a thrill and an honor. It's hard-earned and well-deserved, my sister. I am so proud of you and love you with all my heart.

Al I know is that it's only rock and roll - and I like it, like it - yes I do!

the Queen of Metal reigns supreme
its been 15 yrs since the Queen of Metal Lita Ford graced us with her music..

leaving civilization behind with her husband to raise a family she is now back and kicking major ass..she has never sounded so good and played so well and i love this album.. its personal and confronting but works..!! her significant other half sings too.

so get into your own Wicked Wonderland, take the ride with the Gillettes and you wont be dissapointed..what will it do for you??????
