My second choice was between this album and Panzer Division Marduk. I ended up picking this one because the vocals from Mortuus are topnotch. Plus, this album is more than just a blastbeat fest like alot of albums during Legion's reign tend to be.

Your probably asking why I chose this album over "Shining Black Metal" or "Strange Old Brew"? Both of those records are similar in sound to Morbid Fascination so I wanted to showcase this album which offers a more Black N Roll sound to it that I love.

Think Dark Medieval Times but heavier. In my opinion the best album in Satyricon's whole catalog. You will not be disappointed

The latest release from these Industrial Black Metalers. On par if not better than Soulsaviour.

Very strong release by these guys. The production this time around is alot clearer which gives it a heavier tone. Not as good as Pitch Black Brigade but still 20 times better than alot of the crap that floods this genre.

My favorite album from these Melodic Black Metalers. If you don't enjoy tunes like "A Swarm Of Plagues" then there is no hope for you.

Not only is this a very strong release, it also is a perfect example of how Graveworm have evolved from Scourge Of Malice. Give it a shot!

My current number 2 album from Enslaved. They change from month to month depending upon what kind of mood I am in. The vocal work from Grutle on this album is amazing and tends to be a bit deeper than his usual Black Metal shrieks.

The peak of their punk injecting progression. The majority of the album is still Black Metal, just with a little more punk flavoring. Great release.

Both this album and 2005's "Carmina Pagana" are great Black Metal albums. I picked this one as my second favorite ablum since the only real trace of Folk influence is the use of female vocals here and there. In "Carmina Pagana" you will here quite a bit of folk instrumental passages. They are not horrible, just not really my thing. Great band that deserves more attention.

Have not been able to listen to this release all the way through yet but I am sure I will enjoy it just as much as "Morke Gravers Kammer"

Suicide sucks, especially when it takes one of the best Black Metal artists of all time. This is probably my favorite album from the band. Not quite as atmospheric as SOTLB but definatly heavier.

Blistering speed and icy-cold vocals, what more can you ask for in a Black Metal album. These guys are one of the few bands that can actually take you to other worlds with their lyrics and soundscapes.

It took awhile before I really could enjoy albums by Burzum. I was not much of a fan of the more atmospherical bands until I really sat down and let the music take over. I have to be in the mood but when I am this style of Black Metal is amazing.

How could you not love Grinding Black Metal? This stuff is very abrasive and nasty so be prepared. Great band.

When I first heard the vocals on this album blast through my speakers all I could do is laugh. But the more I listened to them the more disturbing it became. It actually came to the point where I had to turn it off and ask myself what the hell was wrong with this guy. This is a very bleak and disturbing album that really takes you through the mind of a mad man. Great album

2008 release by Wrest of Leviathan and possibly his last. Unbelievable album and great way to end a legacy like Leviathan.

Number 2 album from Dornenreich in my opinion. Can't wait to get my hands on their more recent work. If you still do not own an album by these guys, you should make it a priority to try them out. Great band.

Taake's ablum before Doedskvad. Hard to get your hands on but well worth it.

Not quite as enjoyable as Halmstad for me but still an amazing album. This album jams a bit more than Halmstad, which they are great at, but I listen to Shining for the dark and depressive ambiance.
