The Bird & The BeeThe Bird & The Bee by The Bird & The Bee
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $4.86
Inara George la la la's her sweet voice to these jazzy-electro beats and melodies...such a great blend. LOVE this album.
Wild HopeWild Hope by Mandy Moore
Buy used from: $2.20
This is by and far the best release by Mandy Moore. This softer folk-base genre suits her voice much more pleasingly, as an overall album goes...A+!
Songs of Mass DestructionSongs of Mass Destruction by Annie Lennox
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $0.60
What an icon this lady is in the music world. And still going strong! Her voice is as powerful as ever, and this funkadelic-soulful-edgy-toned-deep-with-a-softer-side album is really impactful, and fun to listen to.
XX by Kylie Minogue
Buy new: $23.99 / Used from: $4.34
Kylie is a beautiful woman, and a beautiful dance voice. This album takes a step even above what she has produced prior, as it holds a bit more substance in the style...hearing twists of goldfrapp-like and gwen stefani-ish influences engaged in many of the songs. Very nice!
CopiaCopia by Eluvium
Buy new: $14.98 / Used from: $6.89
I just began to emerge myslef in this musical mastermind's world of instrumental beauty...but this latest album is surely genius. Very emotional and deep-rooted. It takes a journey to listen, with an epiphany along the way...superb.
In RainbowsIn Rainbows by Radiohead
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $6.46
I've loved a lot of what this band produces, as they have always swayed along the lines of alternative music, giving the genre real meaning. This new album, though, is something else entirely. It sways even further than ever before, in a way that can only invoke musical wonder...in the best way possible. A must have, for sure.
OverpoweredOverpowered by Róisín Murphy
Buy used from: $83.65
Roisin has always struck me with her quarky vocal-tones and sporadic harmonic sublets, ever since the Moloko days. Her first debut was cool, and gave good time on the ole CD player...but this is a leap into catchy dance-along-with-while-you-do-it songs that are sure to make an even longer impact. A great, fun creation!
Life in Cartoon MotionLife in Cartoon Motion by Mika
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $5.00
Mika is an addictive pill in the music realm. One pop and you can't stop trying to sing along to his songs. Very commercial-jingle-meets-catchy-chorus-powerhouse. I have had many, many fun hours with this album.
FauxliageFauxliage by Fauxliage
Buy new: $15.99 / Used from: $7.48
Leigh Nash with her amazing clarity on vocals, mixed with the electric-smooth-jazz-worldy vibes of the Leeb&Fulber crew. And the sweetly real lyrical impact in each song put a dramatic dot to the metaphorical i on this. A nice album all over.
Under the BlacklightUnder the Blacklight by Rilo Kiley
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $3.00
A funky-fresh spirited album from the Riley bunch...and in my opinion, their best yet. Lewis saturates the songs with that sweetly-country-like-soft-twang to her voice, and it makes a good impression to the ears.
Act 2: Blood & Life EternalAct 2: Blood & Life Eternal by Neverending White Lights
Buy new: $37.99 / Used from: $50.54
Act II of the couple. A bit darker/edgier overall, but very reminicient to the Act I compilation, with dominating male vocalist stylings gracing the Canadian man's ambient-rock-pop creations. I happen to love both "Acts" grealty.
VoilaVoila by Belinda Carlisle
Buy new: $18.98 / Used from: $4.25
I am a sucker for the French stylings, as an art in general...and you pair that with Belinda Carlisle, and I am a fan! It may not be for everyone, I admit, as it is completely sung in French...and it is a far cry from her earlier 80's-pop style. But I do love an artistic strecth that happens to capture something of a classic French blend, pop musique a la ballades.
BlinkBlink by Plumb
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $10.60
Another Plumb hit album. This is a much more relaxed and gentle display of Tiffany's vocal abilities, but sweet and powerful none the less. It will lullaby its way into your heart and soul, for sure.
