Black Sabbath, Vol.4Black Sabbath, Vol.4 by Black Sabbath
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $5.45
The main owner's of the origination of metal. To me their best CD. Under the Sun, is my favorite song by them.
...And Justice for All...And Justice for All by Metallica
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $4.00
Of course the ones who made metal popular. To me, ...And Justice For all is their best and their last great CD. Don't get me wrong though, Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets are amazing.
Seasons in the AbyssSeasons in the Abyss by Slayer
Buy new: $8.98 / Used from: $4.98
The inventors of speed metal, and one of my all-time favorite bands. Slayer has never went soft. Granted they have had some CD's that sucked but atleast they were still metal.
Far Beyond DrivenFar Beyond Driven by Pantera
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $1.99
What would a list about metal be without the almighty Pantera. My all-time favorite band. These guys made metal want to be played by others.
ImprintImprint by Vision of Disorder
Buy used from: $0.01
One of the most under-rated bands in the metal world. I figure that "metalcore" started with these guys, by taking the hardcore stance with the ferocity of metal. With this CD they also have a guest appearance by Phil Anselmo on By the River.
MidianMidian by Cradle of Filth
Buy new: $17.98 / Used from: $4.00
I'm not a big fan of "Black Metal", but ironically enough Symphonic Black Metal is my favorite type of metal, and Cradle of Filth was my first introduction into the genre about 9 years ago.
Killing on AdrenalineKilling on Adrenaline by Dying Fetus
Buy used from: $7.00
Now I know Dying Fetus did not invent Death Metal, but I think they took it to a different realm. Myself, I don't like the whole death metal thing, but I love Dying Fetus.
Inevitable Collapse in the Presence of ConvictionInevitable Collapse in the Presence of Conviction by Soilent Green
Buy new: $13.98 / Used from: $3.94
Soilent Green has taking southern metal by the gut and beat it to a bloody pulp to create their own hybrid sound.
AntigoneAntigone by Heaven Shall Burn
Buy new: $13.98 / Used from: $3.24
Germans doing what Germans do best, playing some of the most brutal metal ever. Their is not any reason that some who likes metal should not fall in love with these guys. Did I mention they are brutal?
Armamentarium/AusverkauftArmamentarium/Ausverkauft by Neaera
Buy new: $11.98 / Used from: $4.24
Did I mention that German metal is brutal? Oh.. I did... well her's another reason why I say that.
CommunionCommunion by Septic Flesh
Buy used from: $16.73
I have no idea what to say about this CD besides it's the best CD i have ever heard. The lead singers voice is extremely powerful, sinister, and menacing. Not only that the music is so well structured that it's almost like Beethoven himself wrote it. Just listen and you will hear.
LammendamLammendam by Carach Angren
Buy new: $32.99 / Used from: $59.42
Symphonic Black Metal has found a new face of fear, Carach Angren. These guys remind me of Cradle of Filth in the Cruely and the Beast and Midian way, but different. There is no way for me to explain them, but amazing.
Last Kind WordsLast Kind Words by Devildriver
Buy new: $17.98 / Used from: $5.41
So this is what happens if Coal Chamber actually would have had talent.
The Perfect Is the Enemy of the GoodThe Perfect Is the Enemy of the Good by Burnt by the Sun
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $2.68
Burnt By the Sun is one of the best metal bands ever. Their music is very unique, listen to Spinner Dunn and you will understand.
There Is Nothing New Under the SunThere Is Nothing New Under the Sun by Coalesce
Buy new: $14.98 / Used from: $2.52
Coalesce was one of the most amazing bands in the metal world. Sean Ingram has a voice that is very un-mistakable. With this CD it is all Led Zepplin covers, well worth it.
Too Bad You're BeautifulToo Bad You're Beautiful by From Autumn to Ashes
Buy used from: $0.37
Now I used to love FATA, but I kinda grew out of the whole Screamo/ metalcore thing (with the exception of a couple bands). But the reason I do have FATA one here is because of the impact they had on the SCreamo/ metalcore genre. Their first 2 CD's helped pioneer the bands that you hear today.
