VolcanoVolcano by Satyricon

At first I thought that "catchy" had no place in black metal. Then I started listening to more of Satyricon's stuff...and I must say I'm very impressed. Score!

ScarsickScarsick by Pain of Salvation

Found out what this album really was ('The Perfect Element II: He') just this morning, and then a few hours later, it's mine. Natch!

After a fairly long time searching, I've finally found this. Yay!
Please Come HomePlease Come Home by Dustin Kensrue
Buy new: $11.98 / Used from: $4.60
Hey, if it involves someone from Thrice, it has to be good. And being that this is the voice, co-guitarist, and principal songwriter of the band...well, you get my point.
Hell SongsHell Songs by Daughters
Buy new: $15.98 / Used from: $4.72
Honestly, I first noticed this band because of a line from the 1944 Preston Sturges film, 'The Miracle of Morgan's Creek,' in which one of my favorite character actors, William Demarest, repeats, with some disdain, "Daughters..." Then when I read about the band, and how they were signed on Hydra Head and from Providence...how could I resist?

Buy new: $11.98 / Used from: $2.77
I'm slated to interview the band, and soon, but it has yet to happen. Oh well, I can catch up on their albums and expand my knowledge and perspective(s) on them...so far, so good!

Bohren & Der Club of Gore - 'Gore Motel' FINALLY, I own their legendary first album. I'm listening to it as I type this - far gloomier than any of their later albums. There's even electric guitar doing these weird, down-tempo riffs, reminiscent of a cleaner, instrumental Xasthur. And best of all, Bruce Lee is on the cover!

Bohren & Der Club of Gore - 'Midnight Radio' Another album that Amazon doesn't carry...too bad. A two-disc set featuring eleven untitled tracks, I haven't listened to this yet, but I'm sure it'll be a real treat. It has some of the most beautiful "city at night" photography that I've ever seen, at least in a CD. You can purchase these from Aquarius Records.
