Buy new: $17.49 / Used from: $11.00 This is Zak Stevens' band after he left Savatage. Watching In Silence is the band's debut and the place to start. The music is in the vein of Savatage, but not as epic. Out Of Reach is the highlight song from this disc.

Buy new: $37.99 / Used from: $16.99 CIIC's sophomore effort and a little less like Savatage, but still has that flair. The band experimented with more of a modern sound here, but don't let that scare you away. The Middle of Nowhere has all the elements for a great melodic metal effort.

The band's latest and greatest thus far. Burden of Truth is a concept album along the lines of the DeVinci Code. The music flows nicely and you can tell that Zak and co. have developed their own sound by now. With that said, it still sounds Savaesque.

Buy new: $15.98 / Used from: $6.00 Pins and Needles is Chris' latest solo effort, along with a collaboration of guest musicians. There are a few of his TSO bandmates that participate in this release. He continues down the traditional metal route, which is a very good thing!

Buy new: $15.98 / Used from: $9.18 Global Warning is JOP's 4th and latest release. JOP has really released a diverse album this time around. The music ranges from classic Savatage to Jon's influences such as Kansas and the Beetles.

Buy new: $34.98 / Used from: $9.50 Delusions of Grandeur is also CIIC's fourth effort, which came out mid 2008. This album finds CIIC going all out with the heavy factor. The consistency is here with this effort, but I recommend the first release, Watching In Silence, to the person looking to explore this band.

Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $11.99 The latest (2009) effort from Caffery. Here he's not quite as daring and sticks more to a straight forward, melodic metal approach. He does it very well! I hope he sticks with this type of sound too.

 | Machines of Grace by Machines of Grace
Buy new: $9.98 / Used from: $8.46 Zak Stevens and Jeff Plate were members of a band called, Wicked Witch, back in the 80's. They mainly toured the east coast, especially the Boston area. Machines of Grace is Wicked Witch material re-recorded, with modern production. It's straight forward, melodic hard rock. Good stuff!

Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $8.85 This is the latest, 2009, installment from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Nightcastle is the band's only second non-holiday album. With that said, they've re-recorded several Savatage tunes for this release. This has some Savatage fans upset! As for the rest of the material, it's much more of the same. It's not bad by any means, but no surprises either.
