Beware!!!!
Do not be fooled! It says 2009 but only one card company listed to 2008 the rest stop in 2007 and 2006. It also has no insert cards. If you have just basic cards or a bunch of old cards then its fine but has to be pre 2007 although the cover says 2009. Also I'm doing away with Beckett entirely. I bought a monthly book off the local magazine rack and the dates started at 2003!!!!!!!!!!!! I stopped collecting in 2001 and just recently started again only because I'm starting my son a collection. I've wasted $30 on beckett in 2 weeks. Never Again. When I was collecting you could grab any book and it had everything. I've spent $30 and still havent been satisfied!!
Some basic card sets left out?
Beckett is usually considered the best source for card pricing. I have no problem with the way they price cards. There just appears to be too many inexcusable flaws in this book. Many common sets are completely left out! Most notably, Topps Traded, Fleer Ultra, Donruss Rookies, etc. These are very important sets to card collectors from the 1980's. The 1984 Fleer Update (with Clemens, Puckett RC's) and 1982 Topps Traded (with Ripken RC) are included but the Donruss Rookis and Topps traded sets from 1986 (Barry Bonds RC) are nowhere to be found? These sets are typically included in the monthly magazines but not in the annual paperback? And there are very little sub sets listed. Isn't that why you purchase these books? Disappointed.
Beckett price guide
This book is very helpful in finding the values of old baseball cards. It has been a very useful book to me, in trying to organize my card collection.
