the plot is rather fantastic but absorbing and Ash's characterization of Holmes is vivid & canonical.
the Master's form is still excellent, his acid witticism & morbid sense of humour is intact, regardless of his age.

I don't say that just holmes is a frail old man, but simply I don't feel the spirit of the original. To me, the protagonist has many similarities to Holmes, but definitely not the Master himself! however, the novel is good & worth reading.
