Average customer review:Product Description
The MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air each have a Mini DisplayPort that allows you to connect an external display or projector using an adapter. You can use an external display as your main workspace or to extend your desktop, or you can work in mirrored mode with a projector so you can view what your audience sees. Use the Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter to connect an advanced digital monitor, such as the 20- or 23-inch Apple Cinema Display.

Customer Reviews
does what it should
No problems. I have a 13" Macbook Pro (mid-2009) and a 24" 1080p Gateway monitor on my wall. It just works. No complications or special instructions. That's really all that you need to know, right?
Sure it's a rip-off - but IT WORKS GREAT!
Very happy with it. We can now run two monitors off our imac.
Some of the criticisms are complaints about what it's not really intended to do.
For me, I hooked up a second 1900x1200 monitor - using standard digital DVI - and it works just fine.
Sure - it's a ridiculously overpriced $30 ripoff. But it does the job. Recommended, regardless. Thank you!
DVI-D only
Beware, this adapter only passes along a digital signal. It is missing four pins around the slot that enable it to work with CRT monitors and projectors. Hence, you can't combine a DVI->VGA adapter with this one. You must buy a second adapter. I expected more for $30.
