The Best5
For the price and what it can do it's the best product on the market. It also comes with songs already downloaded. I bought 7 for my family memebers!

The Future of Music... Your Collection on a Card5
Poor, poor ZVUE.

What a wonderful product the ZVUE 260 is. Seriously.

I got this player for around $30 here on Amazon, and I must say, I am very, very happy with it.

I'm currently using an 8gb card in it, and it's working perfectly.

The only reason the sales of this player haven't taken off, in my opinion, is that the masses don't yet understand that those tiny cards they put inside their cameras can ALSO be used to play music off of.

As we all know, when it comes to format changes, the masses need coddling. Lots and lots of coddling.

Honestly...it's intellectual lag time.

I hope ZVUE can hold on as a company a little while longer, as the prices of the SDHC cards come down, and people suddenly realize they don't need to outgrow their players anymore... they can just buy new cards.

The only tip I have for anyone wanting to purchase this player is that you need to have the tags for your mp3's in perfect working order, or you will get an error and your songs won't play.

I would suggest buying and learning to use MediaMonkey.

Another, more inexpensive program that's free (I believe) that can be used is called Mp3Tag.

As far as I can tell, to work properly, only the barest of tags are needed. Artist, song, title, year, track, genre... and that's about it. Anymore info than that and you'll probably be getting errors.

If I had to make a suggestion for ZVUE, the only thing I might add is that they may want to throw in some EQ settings on the next model. Probably some SRS effects. It's not the end of the world if one doesn't have EQ, but hey, on some of that older rock and roll those SRS effects really bring it back to life... ya know?

(If you have no idea what I'm talking about, check the latest version of Windows Media Player, under 'Sound Enhancements'. Wide that stuff from the decades past to about 20, add the TRUBass to 20, and you'll become a believer, trust me.)

Good luck to you, ZVUE. May you stay in business long enough to hear the crowds screaming your name, and the analysts all loving you for being so very, very, very ahead of the curve.

Delisting? What delisting?

Good deal, but beware4
After doing research I decided to go ahead and purchase this ill fated Media Player. I'm going to go ahead and list the pros and cons of this player.

Pro:

Nice screen size 2.5"

Decent on board speaker.

Easy Navigation, though slightly annoying.

Easy to use with the SD card and 16gb of possible storage with the use of an SD card.

MUCH better than expected sound quality

Incredible price, about $35

Cons:

MUST USE AN SD CARD, no on board memory. (Does come with 1 gb SD card)

Cheap plastic feel and prone to smudges.

Annoying power button and is a little big for my taste

NO SUPPORT, ZVUE is all but out of business, and stock for only 2 cents a share, they are hurting.

No updates, and the software is all but useless. Also MUST update firmware, but that is necessary in most MP3 players.

NO FM tuner, microphone or interesting gadgets.

In a nutshell this is really a good player, I just wish that Zvue had been given a fair chance. It's a really good player and its also nice with the SD card option. It has many advantages over ipod and zune, however the price is the best one. If you are thinking of getting one, beware that you are on your own and Zvue is no longer an active company. However, if you want a media player that will work properly, and is upgradable for memory at a great price, PLEASE BUY. I love it and though I will be getting a Zune or Sansa soon, this will be my primary media player for my more rigorous activities.
