Rain boots with an edge
I hate it when it rains, mostly because I always end up getting into the office with wet, cold feet. I have always been a bit wary of rain boots because they tend to look ugly and chunky, in my opinion. Of course you have to do what you have to do, but I know I would have not worn anything that was suitable to work in a field to go to work. I have grown up at the countryside and wellies are what we use when we do gardening, feed the animals and walk in the mud -but it seems to be raining a lot in Philadelphia, where I have relocated, and I needed a stylish alternative.

I came across the Aquatalia boots by chance and like the shape. In fact, they look like shoes I'd be happy to buy even if they weren't waterproof. They were also on sale so I figured I'd give them a go -I was, however, a bit worried they would be waterproof but not rain and puddle-proof, but the price was very good and they were pretty, so they were ordered.

I was very impressed when I got them! These boots are beautiful! They are very well made and every detail of them is carefully designed. Even the buckle is nice and classy and doesn't look cheap at all.
I got a chance to wear them on Christmas Eve when me and my husband went out for dinner to a restaurant near our house, in the rain. It was pouring down, but given that the place was three blocks away, we decided to walk. Since these boots do look really nice, I decided it was as good as an occasion as any to wear them and try them in the rain. The place were we were going was relatively fancy, but they looked perfectly appropriate with my black wool dress.
They were very comfortable and passed the rain and puddle test wonderfully. I came home with dry, happy feet even after walking in a really bad rainstorm and stepping into puddles and mud. The boots were also very easy to clean and they look new after just a quick rinse in the sink (they were covered in mud).

I would have given them 5 stars, but I noticed that the top part of them is a bit tight, especially if you wear them for a few hours -they were not terribly tight or painful, but I could feel them at the end of the evening. I have really tiny calves, so I would imagine that they could be very uncomfortable for someone with slightly bigger calves than I have, and one should bear that in mind when ordering them.
Other than that, they work very well in the rain, keep you warm, look stylish and are very nice to walk in (but maybe not to wear for a whole long evening or day).
