Album Description
Thanks to MTV, Ozzy Osbourne and his family are household names--sort of a Beverly Hillbillies for the 21st century. Black and Bluegrass: A Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath couldn't agree more. Trading Ozzy's anguished vocals for high-lonesome harmonies, and screaming guitars for lightning-quick banjos, this collection gives the music of heavy metal's founding father the bluegrass treatment. Performed by Iron Horse and featuring such classics as "Crazy Train," "Paranoid" and "Mama, I'm Coming Home," Black and Bluegrass cooks up a tribute as good as mama's cornbread--with a side of chicken heads.

Hillbilly Sabbath !5
Interesting to listen to Sabbath and Ozzy songs with a hillbilly bluegrass twist. My first reaction was hysterical laughter, the more you listen to the Cd the more respect you have towards the artist. The banjo playing or whatever instrument they are using is intricate & complex. Not sure how they can play so many notes so fast. It's really not bad. If they were to release a part two with pure Black Sabbath songs I would definitely buy it as well. This CD only has three Sabbath songs. The Ozzy songs are good. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is the best. If you like Ozzy & Sabbath buy this.

Lots Of Fun4
I love all kinds of music. I bought a CD of CSN&Y done in a "Bluegrass" version. Thought it was well done. Found the same people did an album of "Hendrix". Just a bit "reaching"!

Iron Horse on the other hand has "nailed" Ozzy. Hard to believe Ozzy's music could be done in a "bluegrass style". It works. I found something interesting in the music translation. Compare "Mama,I'm Coming Home" with the "Beatles" song "You Like Me Too Much". Listen to them "back to back".

Let me guess---another CMH blockbuster5
Remember the days when the first 4-track recorders became available for consumers? Then, remember when that one eccentric dude in your neighborhood bought one? He wanted to record every garage band in his little town.

Stop now! CMH Records has somehow found the first of those recordings from Centralia PA. It is true that analog machines arrived late to this sleepy town, but what else would you expect? Just be glad that these classics were layed down for the good of Bluegrass Music.

Luckily, for fans of this sub-genre, this band only lasted for the six hours it took to record this classic, and thus, they failed to erect a home page. Otherwise great dissapointment would have ensued over being unable to access their concert tour schedule due to continuious farking of the Centralia server.

When can we expect Volume 2?
