Great router fence - complicated dovetails4
I've owned one of these for about a year and a half and have cut some beautiful dovetails using this system.

Set-up is easy and explained well by the manual. Incramental adjustments are easy, and the positioner is rock-solid. You have to be very careful, because your stock may want to move in the middle of a cut when clamped to the right-angle feature.

Making dovetails: The templates are easy to follow, but require too many steps to set up. Adjustment and centering of your workpiece is critical, and cutting dovetails by incramental changes in fence position takes just too long if you have more than a couple to cut. I would rather spend the time to hand-cut the dovetails. After my initial few, I haven't used the dovetail function of this jig.

As a router table fence, this system can't be beat for the money. For the price of many standard router fences and a little modification, you can have tremendous functionality. The bit hole in the fence is too small, but with the t-slots on the front, you can attatch a second adjustable fence that you can make from MDF and laminate. Using 3" thick MDF covered with laminate as a second fence, I have even used raised panel bits. The ability to adjust the fence position at will is great. The fence is solid, stable, adjustable and a breeze to use. I tend to measure, but when you get the template guide zeroed in, you can simply set the fence where you want it using scale measurements. I wouldn't buy this as a dovetail jig alone unless you are VERY patient, but it is well worth its price for use as a router table fence. I use mine at least weekly and wouldn't trade it for any router fence system out there. I'm currently looking at Keller and Leigh as better dovetail options. Thanks for reading.

Great Fence but tedious joinery4
Set up is straight forward and easy to complete with very good instructions. As a router table fence, it is precise, repeatable, and dead on accurate. Once familiar with the concept of the templates, provides easy repeatability with accuracy second to none. T-Track near the top of fence allows the attachment of shop made subfences and zero clearance subfences, which is very convenient for day to day operations. As for joinery, don't be misled by the glitzy YouTube videos. The demonstrator has obviously been doing this for a long time plus he has the top of the line equipment. The videos do not let you see the constant setting, cutting, checking, re-setting, cutting, checking, and so on. To cut dovetails or box joints with this tool requires precise centering and depth adjustment, and I mean PRECISE. I found that one must spend far too much time with these operations to make it a serious tool for joinery, especially if you have many joints to cut. Also, the right angle jig must be used for all joinery operations and I found it cumbersome to use trying to hold everything steady while clamping the parts to it. And, if you don't get the little nylon screws adjusted just right, the jig will not track correctly and cause all sorts of problems. Plus, each centering and depth adjustment ritual must be done every time the workpiece width or depth changes. Dovetails and box joints are much easier and quicker using a Katie or Keller jig or a similar one that I use from Peachtree Woodworking. My overall rating of 4 stars is a combination of 5 stars as a router table fence and 3 stars as a joinery tool. I would recommend the purchase of this item, but only as a fence, not as a tool for joinery.

Dead On, Accurate5
I am very much surprised how accurate the system is. It took me less than a hour to assemble and adjusted and fine turn, the fence and right angle fixture. So far all my dovetail boxes have been perfect. Also all the videos in Youtube are a great help [...] Thanks Incra.
