NICE watch for your hard-earned dollar.......
This is a GREAT watch for under $20....I was looking for one that was 'disposable' since I planned to wear it while working around the house during various home improvement projects, so I wanted to keep my investment to ~$20. I was looking for two things: an easy to read display and a calendar function. I got both along with a stopwatch, alarm and a nifty second timezone feature; which is essentially functions as a 'watch within a watch'. As noted by one reviewer, the date is displayed in red and the day of the week in green, but its a bit difficult to discern the color unless the lighting is ideal. The night illumination works nicely & its water resistant (in theory) to 100M. The plastic strap seems to be well constructed, but like many others of its type will proabably get uncomfortable on hot, sweaty days. Finally, this watch uses a CR2025 lithium cell which should result in battery life in excess of 5 years.

A few unknowns for the moment:

1. How long will the plastic strap 'keeper' last?
2. How scratch & impact resistant is the crystal?
3. How well will the watch setting buttons hold up?

So far, I am quite pleased with my purchase and would recommend this over the more expensive Casios & Timex pieces. If and when you have to throw it away, at least you wont feel too badly about it! Setting-up the watch is pretty intuitive & straight-forward, you don't really need the insturctions. The watch strap seems to be well constructed, but i would have prefered a nylon mesh strap that 'breathes'.The instructions for the watch are located inside the plastic display 'cradle'; that the watch ships in, so be sure not to throw it away until you pry the two pieces apart and retrieve them. Finally, Armitron offers a lifetime warranty on the watch mechanism to the original owner, so hopefully you will only need to replace the battery and/or strap periodically.

Looks good but
This watch look good, feels good on your wrist and it dove with me to 130ft with no problems. But you need to baby it because the straps will not take much abuse before they break off as mine did.

Great watch, weak, nonstandard, unreplaceable band
OVERVIEW
There are very few other watches with the features and ease of use as this watch handles. This watch is great. The band is horrible.

DETAILS
The backlight is easy to see in the dark. Each section is different colors. 12/24 hour mode, secondary time zone, Countdown timer, stopwatch, alarm, and water resistant to 330ft. There's also a little adjustable compass rose around the outer rim.

The band is "resin" but basically, it's somewhere between tire rubber and a black, plastic comb. The band lasted about 10 months on me, and then split perpendicularly in about 20 places. The band uses a non-standard interface, and no one seems to sell replacement bands.

The warranty covers only the watch itself, and not the band.

As such, while the watch itself is awesome, it only "lasts" for less than a year. After that, you either hang it by a lanyard, replace the watch, or engineer a new band.

SUMMARY
In summary, If you need a watch for 8-10 months, then this is your watch, and Amazon is your retailer. If you need something more long-lasting, then look for a standard band style. (Let me know if you find one as awesome, with standard band, for similar price!)
