![]() | Lost - The Complete Seasons 1-3
Buy new: $99.99 / Used from: $124.50 By far, the best show on television. This show has changed prime time television forever. Everything from the acting to the sound is awesome
|
![]() | South Park - The Complete First Season
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $8.99 This show has a lot of depth, unlike shows like Family Guy. There is a plot throughout every episode, and most of the humor is derived from the plot, and not pulled out of thin air; or from joke balls in a manatee tank. The writing has gone down over the last few years, but is still miles ahead of Family Guy

![]() | The Office - Season One
Buy new: $22.99 / Used from: $7.67 This show takes a couple of episodes to take off, but once you start the 2nd season, you can't stop watching it. The characters are so imaginative and unforgettable, that you could watch this show over and over again. Which is why it is now syndicated.

![]() | The Office - Season Two
Buy new: $38.99 / Used from: $19.05 |
![]() | The Office - Season Three
Buy new: $36.99 / Used from: $18.21 |
![]() | Heroes - Season One
Buy new: $48.99 / Used from: $25.51 The strength of the show is the fantasy aspect, and the superhero plot. The acting is average at best, there are only a handful of actors on that show that are good. The dialog is suspect at best. It is obvious that Tim Kring is not a accomplished writer but still has decent ideas.
|
![]() | Heroes: Season 2
Buy new: $24.99 / Used from: $20.50 Where the first season is great, this one is sub par. It is extremely obvious that there was no plan originally to continue the story arc's of several main characters; as well as for an overall story. I agree that the writer's strike ultimately saved them from digging to deep of a hole for themselves to dig out of.
|
![]() | The Sopranos - The Complete Series (Seasons 1-6.2)
Buy new: $419.98 / Used from: $184.95 For starters, anyone who is a fan of the Godfather, Goodfellas, Casino, or anything in that general genre, this is going to be their favorite show. The strength of this show is the acting by far.
|
![]() | Deadwood: The Complete Seasons 1-3
Buy new: $118.99 / Used from: $106.00 Another HBO show that is brilliant. Once you get past the strong dialect and speech it becomes a great show. Takes a couple of episodes to get going.
|
![]() | Arrested Development - The Complete Series (Seasons 1, 2, 3)
Buy new: $47.99 / Used from: $63.45 This one of the few shows that I feel was taking off too soon. This show has a British humor vibe to it, and probably won't be as popular with a general audience. If you like the off the wall, right field type of comedy then this is your show.
|
![]() | Prison Break - Season One
Buy new: $49.99 / Used from: $19.49 I thought the first season was the best, and I couldn't stop watching this show. I stayed up all night, because I had keep watching. There are a couple of instances of coincidences that drive the plot along, but it is no where near as bad as some other shows. I remember asking what is going to happen to the plot once they do break out of Fox River?
|
![]() | Prison Break - Season Two
Buy new: $45.99 / Used from: $21.88 Here's when the show begins to lose its appeal. I believe that the show's writers had a vague idea what they wanted to do from the very beginning, and did a fill in the blank job once season 2 came around. It still is decent, and addresses the second half of the question, what happens when they break out.
|
![]() | Prison Break - Season 3
Buy new: $26.49 / Used from: $23.48 The writers are at a difficult crossroads with season 3 because one of the main overall plots has been wrapped up with Lincoln being exonerated. So the show shifts from being partially about Micheal to entirely about Micheal, and has the feel of being a different show, and this is perfect example of a writing team not knowing where they are going.
|
![]() | The Wire - Seasons 1-4
Buy new: $170.99 / Used from: $105.99 This show I started watching just because it was an HBO show, and most are pretty good, and I was not disappointed. This show has a rawness to it that just works. It doesn't have a glossy feel to it that most network television shows have and I think that is what makes it work.
|
![]() | Two and a Half Men: Complete Seasons 1-3
Buy new: $119.99 / Used from: $99.99 When my roommate had me start watching this show, I thought it was going to be the typically forgettable half hour network show that down the line will be picked up for syndication, I was partially wrong. The strength of this show is the writing and Charlie Sheen.
|
![]() | 24 - Seasons 1 - 6
Buy new: $199.99 / Used from: $100.00 This show started off unique and has gradually become repetitive following a similar formula, and having various subplots that are mostly used as filler, hopefully season 7 will be a fresh start.
|
![]() | Scrubs- Seasons 1-6
Buy new: $149.99 / Used from: $109.99 Brilliant show that sprinkles in just enough medicine and medical stuff to be convincing. This show isn't like ER where it revolves mostly around the diseases/operating rooms but rather the characters. Excellently written and the actors are perfect for their roles.
|
![]() | Rome - The Complete First Two Seasons
Buy new: $89.49 / Used from: $83.00 Another good HBO show, if you like any of the other HBO shows and you like anything historical, this show will work for you.
|
![]() | Battlestar Galactica - Season One
Buy new: $45.99 / Used from: $33.40 Let me start by saying I like this show, I'm not a space nerd or anything but this show transcends just the typical space stuff. The first season especially is great but it tends to drag on especially the 3rd season and the beginning of the 4th.
|
![]() | Battlestar Galactica - Season 2.0 (Episodes 1-10)
Buy new: $37.99 / Used from: $26.40 What the show does great is pose hard social questions that everyone can relate too. However, the overall big mystery of who are the final 5 cylons I feel myself not only not caring but feel like all but the final one was just randomly chosen out of a hat.
|
![]() | Battlestar Galactica - Season Three
Buy new: $38.99 / Used from: $33.90 The show is good, but I'm not in love with is as many are. I recommend that if your not a huge TV watcher skip this one.
|
![]() | Burn Notice - Season One
Buy new: $24.99 / Used from: $20.54 A pleasant surprise, and a nice little show for summer time to hold you over till the fall. There is enough going on to hold your interest, but isn't one of those shows that will make you think twice about what is going on, or what just happened.
|
![]() | American Dad!, Vol. 1
Buy new: $31.99 / Used from: $7.89 Even though this show is made by the same people as Family Guy, and I could write a long rant about how Family Guy is essentially crap, I will say that this show is different than Family Guy. What separates this show from Family Guy is that it has deeper characters that you can do more with.
|
![]() | American Dad!, Vol. 2
Buy new: $20.99 / Used from: $13.97 For example, Stan Smith. CIA agent, extremely conservative, there is a lot you can do with that, which they do; like political jokes, conservative/liberal jokes etc. These elements add depth and give the show some semblance of a plot.
|
![]() | Rescue Me - The Complete First Season
Buy new: $19.99 / Used from: $18.50 This show is interesting and gives you a good look at life as a firefighter. Some of the plots seem repetitive, and it is not the strongest written show on television. However, it still manages to hold your attention.
