Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal
Grade 3-5-A bare-bones adaptation of the classic novel. The simplified text is action packed, but the dialogue is stilted and the descriptive passages are uninspired. However, these flaws will not deter students looking for frontier adventure or a book about the movie (about the book). Several large pencil illustrations are included, but no map accompanies the historical note. Not a necessary purchase, but it may hook reluctant readers.
