Good clear explanation of behavioral reinforcement. Its more about how to train than what to train. Very helpful when you want to go past basic obedience or have a dog doing some weird thing you probably arent going to find mentioned in obedience handbooks - like hanging upside down off the couch!

Another classic. Lots of good stuff here about setting the foundation for a great adult dog. Also really good information about basic care, how to give a pill, groom, clean ears, etc.

Not a training manual but a really terrific book about similarities and differences in human and dog behavior and communication and how we understand and fail to understand each other. Like it a lot and learned so much, even after a lot of years with dogs.

Fun. Lots of ideas for activities and how to teach them. I go back to this when I get in a rut, or especially if I need some inspiration dealing with a young dog who has her own ideas about how to deal with excess energy (eat the couch, dig to china).
