Product Description

Life ain’t fair. All of us face pain and suffering in our lives. The only difference is in degree and kind. This book is the account of mine. Through my suffering I discovered anew that the love and grace of an ever-present God is sufficient to give victory over adversity. God is in the redemption business, waiting patiently for those who will call on Him to give meaning and direction to their lives. Those who read this account of my adversities will see that God is present and willing to help no matter what we face. I pray that He will be honored as other suffering people see Him at work in my life.

Encouraging5
Mr. Ellis' book, "Joy in Hell" was an encouraging story of how a man and his family perservered through the most darkest of times, both emotionally and financially. I recommend this book to anyone who is searching for a "way of out of a storm". As Mr. Ellis wrote in his book, his faith in God not only helped him acknowledge his illness; but helped him learn how he could calm the violent storm of bipolar disease.

Stregth in Hell5
As a first year medical student studying Psychiatry, I found this book to be a genuine eye opener to the "text-book" definition of bipolar disease. Often during the first two years of medical school it is difficult to grasp an accurate picture of conditions you read about. You can memorize traits and presenting symptoms one should look for, but to truly save the information to memory, one often needs to be able to relate the condition to a personal experience or prior patient---this book allows you to do just that!
From a spiritual standpoint, I think that anyone could be motiviated from some aspect of the story told. Mr. Ellis allows the reader to stand in his shoes for a moment, an experience that should humble anyone who has the grace of not being afflicted with his condition. And from this perspective the reader is too allowed to gain from the strength that Mr. Ellis and his family gathered in order to fight their battle.
I would reccomend this book to anyone who knows or is struggling in dealing with bipolar, for any student who is trying to gain a more accurate picture of a patient with bipolar's life, or for the spirtually inclined who could benefit by sharing in someone else's story of what I would call not only Joy, but Strength in Hell as well.

highly encouraging5
This book has given me strength and encouragement to face my trials. I have many but now i know that i am not alone and God is my constant companion. If God can take care of this man he will certainly have no problem with me.I have learned through this book to grow more spiritually stong by honoring God while in my pain.
