As light pollution becomes an increasing obstacle for the amateur observer, telescope sales are up. More and more civilians are watching the skies, many with the help of this quarterly, which serves as a meeting place for leading astronomers working in academia and the sciences, as well as ordinary citizens who enjoy observing the heavens. The objective is to publish "photometric observations of comets in tabulated format, including carefully made visual and CCD magnitude estimates of comets with proper documentation." Comet stalkers of all types are invited to contribute their observations to the magazine. It is hoped that, by collecting information from such a broad source base, the journal will be able to provide both scientific and backyard astronomers with a valuable resource. International Comet Quarterly is currently published by the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory. --Edith Sorenson
