About the Author
Maria Kay Simms, well known as astrologer and lecturer, has authored previous books including Future Signs, The Witch's Circle, A Time for Magic, Your Magical Child and Dial Detective. Formerly President of ACS Publications, Maria has just completed six-year period as Chair of National Council for Geocosmic Research, Inc. She is a member of Association of Professional Astrologers International, and is also credentialed as a minister and priestess. Her Circle of the Cosmic Muse is affiliated with Covenant of the Goddess and Dodona Church of Religious Science. Maria is listed in various Marquis publications including Who's Who in America.

A must for the spiritual seeker
Moon Tides, Soul Passages is a great book for anyone looking to integrate astrology with other aspects of their spiritual path. To know your Moon is to understand your emotional flow and the deep intuitive side of yourself that motivates so much of who we are, what we do, and why we do it.

Author Maria Kay Simms guides you through the signs of the zodiac system, how these are connected to seasonal mythology, and the role of the moon in cycles of relationships and the changing seasons. She blends Goddess mythology, explores astrological houses, all the various phases of the moon, and even eclipses. Prior knowledge of astrology is helpful, but not necessary. This book comes with a CD-ROM that is easy to use and install that creates a complete report of everything you never knew you wanted to know about your lunar placements.

Simms offers plenty of advice to help connect with the lunar and seasonal cycles, including journaling, meditation, and rituals for personal insight and spiritual empowerment. The book is also enhanced with lovely moon and goddess artwork and poetry as well as personal stories and examples from biographies of notable public figures. This is a book I'll turn to again and again. I highly recommend it.

Author of a Classic Comes Through Again
For more years than I can count (easier to simply research the date of release for the first edition), Ms Simms' book, Circle of the Cosmic Muse; now renamed The Witch's Circle has been a standard in my coven library and a personal favorite of my own. My third dog-eared, highlighted, much read copy now resides on the bookshelf of Craft classics. Although my interest in astrology is only passing (whereas hers is equaled only by her impressive knowledge), I found Moon Tides, Soul Passages to be a highly enjoyable experience. I say "experience" as opposed to "read" because it truly is more than just a book. The CD Rom that accompanies the book opens up an entirely interactive portal to what the program actually offers.

Whereas her previous books drew from personal accounts and had a more personable feel to it, this book is specific to instruction and explanation of the moon in its varying phases and aspects. I feel I am very safe in saying that you will want for absolutely nothing in terms of moon info as you work your way through this book.

In addition to a wonderfully extensive exploration of individual charting (which you create by means of the CD Rom), there are beautiful rituals tailored to specific to each lunar phase. Discussions on the different lunar aspects are interwoven artfully with Goddess lore and breathtaking artwork (some of which is created by the author herself) in a way that is both pleasing to the spirit as well as educational.

I highly recommend this set to ANYone who feels that moon magick by means of astrology is "too complicated" for them. In the hands of this talented writer and astrologer, you will be an adept in no time. (In other words, she'll help you make you look good!)

For a writing that carries with it the primary intention of gently leading the reader on an instructional journey through the lunar astrological significances, it is absolutely lovely that Ms Simms manages to simultaneously show us more of who she is on a personal and spiritual level. ...and here I didn't think I could like her even more.
