Delicious, glamorous, even slightly decadent - cocktails are back in vogue. Whether you want to throw a great party or spice up an ordinary evening with a special drink, Cook Cocktails will provide all the inspiration you need. Ben Reed, London's hippest, hottest mixologist, offers a delicious range of recipes for almost 100 classic and contemporary cocktails (arranged by spirit), as well as practical advice on equipment and glasses. Why not start the evening with a classic aperitif - a dry Martini, a sparkling Bellini, or an ice-cold Margarita? Or if you want to surprise your guests with something a little more adventurous, then mix up one of Ben's great original creations - a Bramble, a Cranilla Martini, or a Purple Haze. With stunning photography by William Lingwood and Ben's wise and witty words, Cool Cocktails will have you reaching for the crushed ice and cocktail shaker on a regular basis.

About the Author
William Lingwood is one of Britain's best-known names in food photography. But he didn't start that way. As an oil-worker in the Middle East, he learned to cook from the books of Elizabeth David and Jane Grigson, and was inspired by the photography of Robert Fresom and Tessa Treagar. In 1990, he hung up his desert boots and picked up a camera, and his work now appears in magazines, books, and advertising campaigns. He photographed "'Juices and Tonics"' for Ryland Peters and Small.
Ben Reed has mixed cocktails all over the world, including stints in Hongkong and South Africa. In 1997 he was named Cocktail Bartender of the Year in a competition sponsored by Absolut Vodka. The former bar manager of The Met Bar, Ben left London's most fashionable cocktail venue to set up and run Woody's, also in London. His column, Barfly, appears in The Times Magazine every Saturday and he was a consultant for Hollywood Cocktails(Willow Creek Press). "'Cool Cocktails"' is his first book. Ben has recently completed a TV series for the BBC, Shaker Maker.

Cocktail book
Beautiful book for the price. It made a very nice Christmas gift. I wanted to keep it for myself and I'm sorry I didn't order more!!
Cool Book
Bought it for my sister-in-law as a birthday gift to go with some snazzy cocktail glasses and a pitcher. Plenty of beautiful pictures that might temp you into being an alcoholic! Well, maybe more adventurous in trying many of the obscure liquors out there.
The pictures alone make my mouth water...
Hey, so just looking at the pictures just makes me want to get trashed. And it is very easy to, as author Ben Reed gives you the necessary steps to making these delectable drinks. The pictures alone make the book worthwhile. And even though mine don't look like that, none of my guests ever care, because its whats IN the drink, not what's on the OUTside of it. So, thanks Will for the pictures. And thanks to you Benny, for being a great bartender. A great book, highly recommended.
