Product Description

Why don't the Muslim people throw out their dictators and demand human rights? Why is America feared and mistrusted in the Muslim world even when she tries to help? Why can't the Muslim world accept some responsibility for its problems? Every day the news confirms the conflict between the Muslim world and the American way of life. Dr. Mark Gabriel, former lecturer at Al-Azhar University, sheds light on this conflict, explaining the mysterious attitudes of the Muslim world and why they resist principles such as equality for women, freedom of speech, and other ideals that Americans see as secular, nonreligious, and good for all people. He explains at psychological and religious levels what causes suspicion, animosity, and aggression toward America and answers the question: What can America do right in the Muslim world today?

Our Greatest Weapon in the War on Terror... Is Understanding the Truth

Why don't the Muslim people throw out their dictators and demand human rights? Why is America feared and mistrusted in the Muslim world even when it tries to help?

Every day news reports confirm the conflict between the Muslim world and the American way of life. Dr. Mark Gabriel, former lecturer at Al-Azhar University, sheds light on this conflict, digging into the mysterious attitudes of the Muslim world and explaining what is behind the suspicion, animosity, and aggression toward America.

Sharing from his extensive knowledge of the Quran, along with his firsthand experiences, he explores such topics as:

·Why fundamentalist Muslims view democracy as an affront to Allah's authority
·How Muslims view bedrock democratic principles such as human rights, equality of women, freedom of speech, and criminal law
·What America can do to improve its relationship with Muslims, both domestically and abroad
·Why understanding the Muslim mind-set is key to winning the war on terror

About the Author
DR. MARK A. GABRIEL was able to quote the entire Quran by the time he was twelve years old. Islam Explained5
"Culture Clash" was written by an Egyptian Muslim who, although being a graduate and teacher at Islam's premier imam-training school (al-Azhar University in Cairo) in the 1970s, and upon becoming disillusioned with Islam, converted to Christianity in 1993 C.E. From his thorough understanding of Islam, the author has written a truly heart-felt book in explaining how Islam has developed the thought-process of Muslims in opposing democracy, individual liberty and all other religions. As he appropriately titled his book, it is indeed a "Culture Clash" between Islam and Western civilization. He notes as much in his preface: Islam "is fighting Western culture because the culture of the West and the culture of Islam as it was practiced by Muhammad cannot coexist." The chapters in this book are: The Foundation of Islamic Culture (How Muhammad created Islamic culture; The past rules the present.); The Nature of Islamic Culture (Prayer and washing, fasting and pilgrimage, daily life, stereotypes about non-Muslims, the wall between Muslims and non-Muslims, personality trails that cripple Muslim society); Women in Islamic Culture (Muhammad's stereotypes about women, Islamic law about marriage, women's rights under Islam, loss of freedom for women); The Clash Between Islamic Culture and American Law (seven ways Islamic law clashes with western law, what Islam teaches about democracy, establishing democracy in Iraq and the middle east, separating religion and politics); and the Future of the Culture Clash (the war of ideas). For those who may be unfamiliar with Islam, the author reviews the religious foundations of Islam to help the reader understand the "why" as to how Islam so much conflicts with individual liberty. The author bolsters his contentions by providing specific citations from the Muslim's holy book: the Quran. For those who are already familiar with the author's other books, "Culture Clash" is a new expansion of his revelations about how Muhammad (PBUH) birthed Islamofascism.

Terrorist Info Revealing5
This book was excellent as were his other books. It is very interesting to hear from someone who understands Islam and can explain some of the thinking, while at the same time frightening.

Culture Clash5
An excellent education. This book explained the mysteries of Islam in the simplist terms. I now have a much better understanding of the US conflict with the "radical" Muslims, their history, and the Christian differences.
