Mostly what I expected
After reading many reviews for backpacks and slings, I decided this was the best option as far as durability and functionality. I would change about 3 things however. 1) A padded handle would sure be nice for those times when I can't have it slung over my shoulder. 2) Sturdier zipper pulls. I had one pull apart in the first week and had to string some twine through the zipper to be able to pull it open/shut. It works. 3) Sure wish it had been as spacious as advertised. Sometimes I need to carry 6" binders (+ laptop and office supplies) for work and travel. Luckily I had read the reviews and gone to the manufacturer's site and knew to expect a smaller bag.
Apart from those things, however, I am very happy with this purchase. So far it does exactly what I need it to.

Excellent document and laptop carrier
Great bag. I used to use a regular backpack, but it would end up slung over just one shoulder, flopping around. This stays centered on the back, but is easy to get on and off. However be aware the volume listed is incorrect. Also the bag is set up to carry your computer and books, folders etc. If you want to carry something more than 4" thick, it gets difficult due to the pocket structure. That said it's perfect for me- I usually carry a laptop, related cables, an accordian folder, a 1.5" binder, iPod, Kindle and a DVD case that holdes 12 or so DVDs. The strap is comfortable and the phone pocket has no problem fitting my Razr. One possible improvement- offer it in some more conservative colors (like black or gray without accents) for those of us who take it for business. I get lots of compliments when I wear it.

high sierra shoulder pack
this is the first "backpack" I've gotten that goes over your head. Like the pak, however, being left handed, I would have done better to realize these are made for right handed people. Might be good to offer a choice to those of us that live in our "right brain". As to quality, I'm satisfied, also need to compliment Amazon on incredibly fast delivery w/o sending it special delivery. Thank You.
