Customer Reviews
Good, every day set
I use this set every day. As you can see from the design, it is smooth, basic and functional ... perfect for constant use. It feels balanced and comfortable in my hands. It has been in the dishwasher many times. No complaints here.
18/0 means there is no nickel in the stainless steel. If you have allergies to nickel then this would suit your needs. At this price, I purchased it as a 'disposable' set, meaning once I am not happy with it or I have to move somewhere, I will donate it to a nonprofit organization. Great price point for a college student, who would only need it for 4-6 years.
Functional, good price, and wow...90-pieces!
I purchased this at a GB price. After I made the purchase I read the comments from others and began having buyer regret and considered canceling the order before it shipped.....I'm glad that I didn't. The comments revolved around the 18/0 rating and that this type of stainless steel is low quality (no nickel content) and would bend easily. I was therefore expecting to receive a very cheap cheesy looking set that I'd probably return.
I was looking for everyday flatware that I wasn't going to loose any sleep over if a piece or two disappeared (or half the teaspoons which typically occurs in my house). I have a quality Reed & Barton set that I selected with my wedding china therefore I was strictly in the market for everyday flatware that could take some wear and tear.
First the dinner knives and steak knives have a very nice base and weight. These are the nicest pieces in the set. The base for the remaining pieces are much thinner and would be what you'd expect for a less costly flatware set. I do not however believe that they'll bend easily; but I'm sure that if you purposely tried to, you'd be successful. The soup spoons and dinner forks, in my opinion, are a bit larger than what you'd normally expect but are still an acceptable size. I really liked the fact that 12 extra teaspoons were included since mine are always disappearing. I also rarely have seen a set that includes a pie server as part of the serving pieces so that was an added bonus.
Overall, I wasn't disappointed at all with this set or the GB price of $50. It washes up great in the dishwasher, was a basic design that looks good, and was just what I was looking for. I was finally able to retire my old flatware collection which was a merged collection of 2-sets due to all the lost pieces.
Pieces of Garbage!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought this set back in May 2009 off Amazon as a deal of the day and really wish I didn't. I pretty much don't have any use for them anymore. From the first time I used a spoon to get some ice cream it bent like a stick. The knifes rust REALLY easy. It says they dish washer safe but after washing them a couple of times rust started to form and now no matter how much I scrub the rust will not come off. It looks like as I write this Amazon isn't selling them anymore. But if they do please be wear this sliverwear will bend very easily and will rust after a couple of cleanings.
