One of the Best quilter magazines5
i've subscribed for years, and even gone so far as to purchase older editions on EBAY. This is a terrific magazine with a lot of eye candy and good solid instructions and ideas. The cover quilts are always outstanding, great enough to frame. The instructions for these cover quilts weren't usually available but now, thanks to new copy format, all patterns are available as well as new quilting and patchwork techniques. You really can't go wrong in purchasing this magazine. It is definitely not a throw-away-at-the-end-of-the-month mag. There's a lot to offer for beginners as well as advanced quilters.

Change in subscription: please note3
Just got the Sept/October 2008 issue. They are reducing issues/year to 6. What does that mean for those of us who subscribed at the old rate? Checking my address label, I got "one year" at the old rate, for a reduced number of issues.

Now for the review: I have gotten this magazine for years, and I think it's the best quilt magazine around. It's a good mix of articles, ads and patterns.

Up-to-Date Quilting news4
Quilter's Newsletter provides quilters with current information about quilt shows, contests, new fabric lines, awards, etc. Helen Kelley's column is always fun to read. An article featuring a quilter and her(his)techniques is in each issue. Each month QN inludes a paper piecing block to make and also pictures of quilts made by various subscribers.
I also read American Patchwork and Quilting which contains more patterns/projects, but QN is a good supplement for keeping apprised of news in the quilting world.
