Amazon.com Review
The Simply Calphalon Nonstick Anodized line of cookware is an excellent alternative for those who prefer cooking on a nonstick surface and who desire Calphalon quality at a budget price. Perfect for single servings, this 1-quart saucepan cooks an individual portion of vegetable soup, puttanesca sauce, or quinoa.
Made of durable hard-anodized aluminum of uniform thickness, the pan is an excellent heat conductor and cooks food quickly and evenly. Its double-coated nonstick interior prevents food from sticking and makes cleanup easier. The pan has a contoured oval stainless-steel handle with a blasted satin finish that is comfortable to grip and is held in place by sturdy stainless-steel rivets. The contrasting brushed stainless-steel cover is slightly domed for steaming foods, offering more versatility to this pan. This saucepan is oven-safe up to 375 degrees F so you don't have to dirty several pans to make one dish. All cookware in this line is 100-percent dishwasher-safe (although cleaning with soap and water is recommended to maintain the nonstick finish) and is covered by a 10-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde
Amazon.com Product Description
Sometimes a big saucepan just doesn't cut it, which is why this 1-quart saucepan from Calphalon is so ideal. Whether the chef is melting butter, stirring a béarnaise sauce, heating soup, or steaming rice, the pan performs admirably by heating quickly and holding its temperature nicely. Add in the brushed stainless-steel lid, which fits tightly over the rim to seal in heat, flavors, and nutrients, and the saucepan becomes one of a chef's most trusted kitchen companions.
Simply Calphalon cookware, designed for chefs on a budget, is made of hard-anodized aluminum, a superior heat conductor that warms quickly and evenly. In addition, the saucepan is coated with Calphalon's proprietary two-ply nonstick coating, so that sauces, vegetables, and other foods don't adhere to the pan after cooking. The nonstick surface also cleans easily with a quick wipe of a sponge. The pan's uniquely curved long handle is made of durable brushed stainless steel, which resists heat both in the oven (it's safe to 450 degrees F) and on the stovetop. Calphalon recommends hand washing the pan and using nylon or wooden utensils to preserve the nonstick surface. The saucepan carries a 10-year warranty against defects.
Customer Reviews
Great size and quality
This saucepan is the perfect size and quality to do so many things. It is well made and I use it almost daily. I would strongly recommend it.
Poor quality or just defective
After very little use, the teflon has already worn off. Even though it was only $20, it should lasted at least a year. I've been using teflon products for years and never have had one go bad so quickly.
Not all it is cracked up to be
I was all excited that I was buying Calphalon, what I thought was a very high-end product. After I used and washed it for the first time (following the instruction pamphet), I noticed the side of the saucepan got stained by the oil I used. After one use, I would have expected the product to look brand new. It's okay but I am not wowed by the product.
