Reviewing the purchase, not the product
Since Persil has been the laundry detergent that my family and most other families in Central Europe have been using for generations, there is not really that much need for reviewing the product. It is a good product, and if you own a decent European washing machine and care about your clothes, you need it.
But the question is - why would someone spend $50 on a box of laundry detergent (or $150 on 3 boxes)?
The answer is: because it beats flying across the Atlantic, putting it in your suitcase, having your luggage delayed possibly because someone monitoring the x-ray thinks it could be an illegal or harmful substance, and finding the box ripped when you finally open the suitcase, with the powder well mixed into all the other stuff. Your suitcase will smell like detergent for years to come, and you will be forever reminded of the incident.
I used to bring this laundry detergent with me whenever I travelled to Europe and decided that it is simply worth paying 3 times more for having it delivered to my house.
