For the 9 or so months you will use an infant car seat, get a stroller frame instead of buying the Travel Systems. Travel Systems are usually bulky, awkward, often unattractive and aren't all that cheap either. Get a simple car seat and a stroller frame. Then, invest in a good stroller that you can take for long walks or for use when the baby is older.

This is our second stroller which we gave to my Mom for her house and also for use on our trips. It is very easy, has the same light frame as the Combi Flash and is very lightweight and yet sturdy. The one thing I don't like is that the handle bar has no cup holder. We miss that having been used to it from the Peg Perego. Guess you pay for extras. But still, this is a great second stroller.

This is a great bottle warmer that is way better than the Avent ones. We bought two, one for our kitchen and one for our bathroom and they are still less expensive together and work faster than the one from Avent.

You cannot have enough of this stuff for a child with dry skin. This in combination with a prescription of Acid Mantle Cream/Hydrocortisone has helped keep my son's eczema/dermatitis away.

If you want the baby to take longer naps in the living area, get a play-yard that has a bassinet feature for younger babies. We chose this one because it was neutral and matched our room decor.

This is the perfect mobile, it plays lovely music and the characters and colors used to fascinate my son in his crib and he would wake up smiling and giggling. Even if you have different decor, this mobile is perfect in any nursery. It has primary colors which are important for a small baby whose vision develops in stages.

If you don’t want a big highchair most kids can easily sit on a booster. It’s also easy to take anywhere (I keep mine at my parents place).

In addition to an every day diaper bag, I recommend one smaller, prettier/trendier diaper bag for evening or other more dressier events. I have an asian print one very similar to this one in black satin and I always get lots of compliments. It was only $20 so this is also the right price.

You will receive a lot of small toys for your child Most of my son's sit in a basket and don't hold interest for very long. This one, I have found, is such a great little discovery piece and our son consistently comes back to it after all others.

This is my favorite first book for a child. Its simple, your child will be fascinated by the flaps and you can always play the where is baby game with him too!
