A docile temper, vivacious spirit, and physical sturdiness combine in this breed to make Pomeranians ideal family pets. Written especially for dog lovers who have just acquired a pedigreed pup or are about to purchase one, the titles in this series describe the traits, needs, and general characteristics of the title breed. Is the dog adaptable to apartment living or does it need roaming space and daily exercise? Is it good with children? Is it prone to special health problems? These and many other questions are answered in beautifully-produced hardcover volumes, filled with color photos and attractive sidebars.

Alert, lively, glamorous, and affectionate, the Pomeranian is an ideal companion dog, with fans all around the world.
You will find out everything you need to know about this entertaining character in Living With A Pomeranian, the dog book that says it all.
Advice tailored specifically to the Pom is given on a wide range of topics, including feeding, training, grooming, and general care. The needs of the dog are examined, with emphasis on the importance of socialization. Common behavior problems are tackled, and guidance is given on the best lifestyle for the adult dog.
Throughout this beautifully illustrated book, easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions help you through all the stages of proper and caring ownership.
Although classified as a Toy breed, the Pom is an active dog, descending directly from the larger, working Spitz breeds. His intelligence and liveliness means he can be trained to a surprisingly high level. To provide your Pom with mental stimulation, Living With A Pomeranian includes a unique chapter devoted to all the fun canine activities that you and your dog can enjoy together.
Finally, distinguished veterinarian Trevor Turner writes on the health of the breed. As well as breed-prone conditions and basic first aid, he describes a comprehensive program of preventative health care to ensure that your Pomeranian stays as fit and healthy as possible throughout his life.

Customer Reviews
Stunning Pom pics - easy to read - Pom-specific Vet advice.
This book just arrived, and we immediately read it completely through. First off, the pictures are STUNNING!
Scattered throughout the book are full page personal stories of Pom owners, and one or two of them are quite sad.
Most of them are upbeat, though - and they will all touch your heart!
Although written by an experienced Pom judge and breeder, this book is intended as an instruction manual for new Pom owners.
It also serves well as a reference guide for owners not familiar with how to deal with Pom-specific issues like excessive barking or grooming the Pom's thick coat.
It is written in a clear, easy to read style (we couldn't even detect a British accent!)
And, the health section is written by a veterinarian, specifically for Poms! Nearly all the medical sections of the Pomeranian books we've seen were written as generic dog health guides - so this is a refreshing change!
We give this book 5 stars, and highly recommend it!
Easy to read - Excellent Grooming Instructions!
As a first time pom owner, grooming had to be one of the most intimidating challenges that I faced. This book not only describes in great detail how to groom your new dog, but has excellent pictures for those of us who need a little extra help. It also includes in depth feeding and medical instructions that made me feel much more educated when I brought Precious home for the first time. I was extremely impressed with the knowledge put into this book and would highly recommend it to all new pom owners - it has everything you could ever need!
Nerw POM books.
Very nice book and covers the POM subject very nicely. Very good buy.
