What is BPA?
Bisphenol-A is an ingredient used to make polycarbonate. In recent months, there has been increasing consumer demand for a bottle that is not made with Bisphenol-A (BPA), and CamelBak is proud to introduce BPA-free bottles with the same great properties customers have come to expect from polycarbonate: vibrant color, clarity, durability, dishwasher-safe, and with no residual taste. As of the end of April 2008, the entire CamelBak bottle line will be available in BPA-Free materials in North America.

What are phthalates?
Phthalates (pronounced thal-ates) are a component added to some plastics to make them soft and pliable. None of CamelBak's bottles have ever contained phthalates.

What is the BPA-free Better Bottle made from?
The CamelBak Better Bottle line is made from a new copolyester polymer called Tritan, made by Eastman. It offers the same great qualities that we have come to expect from polycarbonate bottles and is 100 percent BPA-Free. The Big Bite Valve is made of medical-grade silicone for long life and taste-free performance.

Family favorite
My very active family needed a healthy (BPA free and no wasteful disposable/recyclable) water bottle and this one works great. We bought 5 and they are in constant use...always chosen over the others in the drawer. They clean up easily in the dishwasher and the mouthpiece is very durable. We did, however, stop using the straw part and went back to tipping the bottles for a drink.

The water bottle works pretty good. It will leak if shaken and you do have to suck on the straw but it's a fine reusable water bottle.

I can't stop drinking water now!
I purchased the 1 Liter (black) water bottle recently. It is the best water bottle I have ever had. I had come from using your run of the mill Nalgene bottle which I was disatisfied with because I always spilled water on me and it wasn't BPA free. I decided to try something different and after scouring Amazon I picked this one and I couldn't be more pleased. The person(s) who designed this are geniuses. I love not having to tip the water bottle up to drink out of it. All I have to do is flip the valve up and sip. The straw and bite valve is the best feature and I don't feel like a baby drinking out of a sippy cup. It makes it easy to drink more water...I had drank a whole liter before I even knew it! This is a very high quality water bottle for an exceptional price, and every morning I can't wait to start drinking water from it! No other water bottle can even compare.
