Chuck vs the Comic Book5
If you've seen the show, which I assume you have (I hope) then you know Chuck always seems to be getting into trouble one way or another. The same thing happens in the comic which is always fun. All of the Chuck characters also make some sort of appearance, including Anna, Lester, Jeff and everyone's favorite character, Captain Awesome...which is awesome.

What I don't like, is that sometimes the characters say stuff they wouldn't normally say on the show. It happens rarely so I don't mind it much. Besides that, I like everything on this book and I'm very happy with my purchase. All in all it should satisfy Chuck fans and the casual comic readers as well. If you're a Chuck fan it's a no brainer!

This story was very well written and the illustrations were beautiful! No they do not look exactly like the actors (however there is a mini-story in the back where they look exactly like Strahovski and Levi) but they look enough like them for you to recognize them. The story itself is quite funny and very Chuck-esque. There is really no romance at all, but mostly action and humor.

If you are a Chuck fan, pick this one up.

And to top it off, all your favorite characters make an appearance...even Anna!

Chuck me!4
Bottom line: if you're a fan of the show, you'll enjoy this graphic novel. It has all the action, comedy, and nerdtastic moments that make the show brilliant and fun to watch. The heart of what makes it Chuck is here. Is it perfect? No. Does it have to be? No. It's an adaptation to another form, so naturally something is always going to be lost. Yes, the artwork is a little hit-and-miss at times, but I'm guessing the majority of people who are interested in this graphic novel will be more interested in its merits as a Chuck story, not how accurately the characters were drawn to their real-life actors.

One thing I particularly enjoyed about this graphic novel was how the writers didn't ignore the supporting cast. At the back are some shorts involving the Buy More employees, and a couple stories with Captain Awesome. Some more Ellie might have been nice. Overall, this was a worthy investment to help me get through whenever NBC decides to start airing Season Three.
