Whoever designed this board knows that bread kneaders can get pretty vigorous. The front rail is designed to lap over counter edge to provide stability while the back rail traps errant ingredients. The rails and the 3/4-inch-thick New England mountain maple construction prevent warping. You might reserve one side of this board exclusively for breads and pastries and use the other side for veggies and fruits. Wiping, rather than washing, the pastry side with a damp cloth helps preserve the smooth grain. --Toni Reineke

Great board5
I bought this cutting board about 4 years ago and it's great. Very large so it's great for cutting Thanksgiving turkey, flank steaks, and the like. If your sink is not large enough to fit this in, even partially, it's going to be a sucker to clean!!
