Regular toasters perform only one task. The toaster oven can be instead of your regular oven more often that you think. I considered one that has convection, but decided against it. The convection feature raises the price and adds a questionable amount of value.

You need locking tongs. Tongs that don't lock can ruin your day.

How I lived without this for so long is a mystery to me. I wash my salad and then put it into the bowl to toss with the dressing. Not just for salad, the strainer can be used to drain anything.

Really any inexpensive wire whisk will do.

I chose Melamine because the colors are pretty. I'm not sure why mixing bowls are often sold in sets of 3. I have one medium-sized bowl that works for everything.
