Customer Reviews

Dweezil definitely his father's son5
This is my first Dweezil Zappa CD, and let me tell you it is awesome! At first listen, I wasn't sure if I liked it, but it grows on you. Listen to the entire CD and you'll agree he's all that and then some... definitely has those musical Zappa genes!

Dweezil shines5
Wow, The Dweez really smokes on this release. Only one song features any vocals the rest are all instrumental and really showcase his guitar playing styles. At 52 minutes it is somewhat on the short side but I would rather have a shorter high quality record than a bloated 74 minute release with a lot of filler, there's not a weak track in the bunch here.
It would appear that Dweezil intends to release records less frequently than his Dad did which may be a good thing as I think he has a great career ahead of him and I look forward to following it.

Syntheziers a little to much, but great writing and playing from DZ4
Like I said this album is great but a little to much syntheziers for my taste! I have every DZ album and can't get enough of him and his work, and definitely encourage guitar lovers to listen and buy his other albums! This album has good range from heavy to slow and tripie, and the writing is a step up from his last album wich I believe was music for pets with Ahmet(wich was a dissapointment in every way)! If you like guitar albums such as Vinnie Moore, Tony Mcalpine, Uli Jon Roth, Michael Schenker, and other guitar greats you will love this album and appreciate Dweezil's great playing through out this album! The highlight is a remake of an old Frank song called peaches en regalia witch I have another recording of DZ doing it live with Steve Morses old band The Dixie Dreggs!
