Chicago-area singer/songwriter Robb Montgomery released this album in 2002 on the Kidvibe.com label with the sole intention of sharing the love he has for his children with others.

Montgomery's acoustic contemparary compositions on "Lullabies and Little Dittes" were recorded in an an intimate style that features Robb's vocal talents.

Chicago-based singer/songwriter Robb Montgomery's new album, "Lullabies and Little Dittes" a sonic love treasure that is friendly and inviting.

Montgomery's second child, McKayla Skye Montgomery was born the morning of Sept. 11 - and her arrival inspired Montgomery to craft this album as a loving tribute to his daughters. "After September 11, I knew I had to record these songs for my family. My priorities were suddenly shifted and I said to myself 'There was no better time than now to finish the album," Montgomery said.

Montgomery says that the album's final track "Enchanted Lullabye" is his favorite song on the album. Written for his daughter, McKayla Skye, the tune brilliantly captures the love a new dad has for his newborn child.

Released in July 2002 on the Kidvibe.com label, "Lullabies and Little Ditties" features Montgomery's acoustic contemparary compositions recorded in an an intimate style that features Robb's vocal talents.

Half the songs on the CD are tender, sleepytime songs and half are fun little ditties laced with humor. The first half of the album features Montgomery's adventurous 'ditties' - songs that are sure to get toddlers up and dancing. The second half is collection of original lullabies that help calm little ones down before bed time.

Robb Montgomery is a Chicago-area singer/songwriter. Montgomery's children's album, ÒLullabies and Little Ditties,Ó was released in 2002 on the Kidvibe.com label. His wife, Mary, and their two children live in the Chicago suburb of Naperville.

A great solo production
This cd is a great children's album mainly because it brings a creative aspect to the whole "children's music" industry. It offers lyrics and music that will easilly entertain a child, while at the same time it offers music and lyrics that won't numb the minds of the parents listening to the disc. The lyrics contain scenes from everyday life that a child would enjoy and understand such as watching dogs chase bunnies, "playing" music on various instruments, and getting held back by one's small stature as a toddler. The lyrics, though about those childish topics, still offer plenty of humorous phrases and word plays to keep a parent entertained for the length of the disc. The music is up to the same par as the crafty lyricwork. Every track was masterfully recorded by Robb with the help of some studio musicians, and they were all produced by Robb to achieve an excellent mix. The musical stylings range from blues to latin to acoustic pop similar to the style of Neil Finn of Crowded House fame. Robb's voice even sounds similar to Finn's. This cd is definitely worth buying if you want some good, clean, fun music to listen to with your children. You won't be let down!

This is the ultimate baby shower gift or birthday gift for a pre-schooler! I have given this CD to over 10 friends who are either new moms and dads, or have preschool to early elementary-age children. All the moms, dads, and kids love the music and the parents love the lullabies and the fun songs!!! Robb Montgomery has a terrific way of expressing a father's love through music.
