Recall on Maxi Cosi Infant Car Seat
Do not buy this product. I got a notification that there's a recall on the Maxi Cosi infant carseat. I had so much trouble clicking this car seat into it's base each time I take it out and therefore was not at all surprised that there's a recall due to that very reason. If you look at other reviews on the net, many parents are experiencing the same issue. In addition, the buckle very very hard to snap into place. Horrible product by all account. It only looks good. And BTW - the one I got was manufactured after Feb 18, 2008 and it still has the same issue.

This voluntary recall is in response to Dorel Juvenile Group (DJG) identifying a small number of units where the car seat shell does not properly attach to or detach from the base. No injuries have been reported. Consumers should visit www.djgusa.com to verify if they have an affected base. The recall involves car seats and bases manufactured prior to February 18, 2008. The model number and date code can be found on the bottom of the car seat or on top of the base. Please do not return your car seat or base to the store where you purchased it.

Looks Good, Maddening to Use
I chose this car seat because it looks good. Silly me. The latch is nearly impossible to fasten; even after 6 months of practice, I'm always muttering how I HATE this carseat when buckling my baby into it. We have used my sister-in-law's Graco when visiting family, and though it doesn't look as good, it is infinitely easier to fasten as well as to put into the base. I am about to sell mine and get the Graco, which would have been the sensible one to purchase in the first place.

fantastic product. we were involved in an auto accident involving the baby. our insurance told us to buy a new car seat. the original maxi was great. baby came through fine in the accident. when offered the opportunity to buy another car seat we chose the maxi cosi -- again. great product !!!!
