Customer Reviews
Don't buy anything other than the Moby! You won't regret it!
Let me just say I LOVE LOVE LOVE this sling!
I bought this sling two days before a ten hour flight with a three hour layover. My daughter either slept the whole time or looked around at her surroundings. In fact, the only time she was fussy or cried was when I took her out to change her or for take off and landing. My back did not hurt at all the WHOLE time. I feel she is very secure and never worry about her slipping out as I did with my other slings.
I got the wrapping correct and memorized the very first time and haven't needed the booklet since. The second I put my daughter in it she was quiet and happy, she looked around at what I was doing until she fell asleep, like magic! While I am wearing her, I am able to do most housework and even sit at the computer.
I own the Hotsling which hurt my back just 15 min after wearing and my daughter made strange noises while in it that always make me uneasy. I also own a Baby Bjorn, but i worry about pinching her and it also hurt my back after about 30 minutes.
The only possible negative about the Moby is that you have to learn how to put it on in public without it touching the ground. I usually use a shopping cart, or a bench. Though, it is not enough of a negative for me to give it less than five stars. Also, people say that the fabric is too stretchy to securely hold their child. But, the only way I can see that happening is if you tied it too loose to begin with. If I initially wrap it correctly I do not have to readjust it at all.
I hardly ever use a stroller anymore. When I go to the supermarket I just pop her in the Moby, grab my diaper bag, and go, no stroller. In the Mall I take the stroller only to hold my bags. All in all, this has been a tremendous lifesaver for me, and because of it, my home is finally getting cleaned and back to normal, LOL.
My favorite baby carrier
I own three different baby carriers, and this is by far my favorite. It holds my son close and snug to my body, which is what "baby-wearing" is all about. The Moby Wrap disperses his weight over my shoulders and back, which makes it a lot more comfortable for me to wear than any of the other baby carriers, and because it doesn't have any buckles, rings or even scratchy hem lines, he is a lot more comfortable in it.
There is one draw back, and thus 4 stars rather than 5, that it takes a little bit of practice to wrap it correctly and get baby positioned correctly. I practiced twice (with a bag of potatoes!) while I was still pregnant, and found it very easy to use as soon as our son was born.
(The fabric is wonderfully stretchy, which is perfect for a young baby, but I would strongly recommend the Moby D which has a non-stretch panel for a heavier or older child.)
Wonderful feeling
I'm new to "babywearing," and just got my Moby Wrap. I found the instructions so simple-- within 3 minutes of opening the package, I already had my baby all wrapped and secure. She was asleep about a minute later. :)
I've used the Baby Bjorn until now, and there's no comparison. It's so nice to have the baby wrapped in just smooth fabric, no clasps or buckles or edges to worry about. I highly recommend giving this a try.
