Harness has a few flaws...
This child harness is okay but, there are a couple flaws. First, this harness does not fit smaller children that well. My daughter is tiny for her age (1 and a half and 19 lbs) and the adjustable straps only go so far. This probably would not be a problem for bigger children. The other thing I didn't like about it was the velcro close in the back. It was pretty sturdy as far as velcro will go. If my daughter pulled hard enough, the velcro would start to pull apart. I fixed this by using safety pins as an added security but still was nervous using this considering we were by a 60 ft deep lake. I would suggest trying to find a child harness that has an actual clip closure like on a life jacket. I searched for one like that but couldn't find any. For the most part, this harness will do the job especially if it's for walking in crowds where you are just wanting them close but, if you are using it near an immediate danger like deep water or busy streets, i would suggest using something a little sturdier.
