The whole breast pump thing is not a lot of fun, but this pump was great and efficient. Don't bother buying the pump based on the style of the bag b/c the bag is so ugly you'll never use it.

This nursing bra is expensive but so well worth it. It is very functional and pretty at the same time, and holds up extremely well in the washer and dryer.

If you are nursing, these are essential for the first few months. This brand was much better than some of the others that I tried.

These Born Free bottles are great--they cut down on the air in the bottle which means less spitting up and upset stomachs. The 5 ounce bottle size is best for baby's first few months.

When my son was born, he was jaundiced and the doctor recommended that he have some formula for the first week to make sure he was fully hydrated and to flush his system. The hospital gave us these 2 ounce bottles of formula which we then continued to use even while I was nursing. These are great for the first 4 to 6 weeks and really helped us during some nightime feedings.

My son is 19 pounds now and currently wears these diapers during the day. They are great and he very very rarely gets diaper rash.

You will go through millions of baby wipes, and these are sturdy without being dried out. I buy these in bulk and use the unscented version but I'm sure the scented kind is good too.

This swaddle is genius. My son fought it at first but if you stick it out for a night or two it is truly a lifesaver. He ended up loving it and it truly helped him sleep, both at night and for naps. We used this until he was around 3 months old when he outgrew it.

My son loved this swing from a very early age--he started using it around one month old and was consistently in it until around 5 months when he began to outgrow it size-wise. He slept very soundly in it and it helped during the few weeks when he was hitting the witching house. Even though we live in a small apartment, this is well worth the space it takes up.

This activity mat was used non-stop by my son from 2 months onward. He loved it and it was great to watch him go through various developmental stages (batting at the toys, grabbing at them, sitting up and teething them, etc.)

My son got into this giraffe around 6 months old when his teeth started coming in. It's one of his favorites.

I love this story and read it to my son constantly (although I wasn't a huge fan of the illustrations, but he seemed to like it).

This car seat is sturdy, safe and comfortable.

I live in NYC and walk everywhere. My son is almost 20 pounds and I still use the Baby Bjorn. It is great if you need to go grocery shopping, etc.--easier to use than a stroller for those errands.
