Out of things for her to find!
My almost 3 year old got this book for Christmas, and we read it EVERY day! In fact, we've read it so many times, I am completely out of things for her to find. I had to resort to "how many red balloons are there...?" questions. I'm back online buying other look and find books for her upcoming 3rd birthday. This book was a huge hit in my house.
Toddlers Will Love This Book
We got this book for Christmas for my daughter when she was 18 months old (2007). It was great as we traveled over the holidays to try out all the looking and finding on the various pages (each two-page spread has a box on the left side with a brief rhyme and pictures of the objects you're supposed to find in the main picture). It's helpful that, rather than "trickier" look and finds for older people, the objects pictured in the "find this" box look just like the objects in the larger "real" picture.
Some pages are harder than others -- my husband and I had a hard time finding a couple of things in the parade picture on the first few readings -- but that keeps it interesting for the many times you and your toddler will read this. And you will. The back of the book also has pictures of the various Sesame Street characters featured, with suggestions for additional looking and finding/games to play with the book as your child grows. I like that it's a book that will "grow with her" in that way.
I have recommended these look and find books to all of my friends with children ages 1 through 4: they're a lot of fun, and they help develop observation skills, besides the obvious educational component of learning the colors of items you're trying to find (red things on the Elmo page, blue on the Cookie Monster page...).
not a bad purchase
I bought this for my 18 month old. She has, and loves, three other books made by this same company. It's obviously too difficult for her to find most of the pictures that you're suppose to find, but she enjoys it anyway. We practice naming and finding the characters and some of the basic items she does know. Hopefully, this is a book she can grow into.
